{"id":830687,"date":"2025-03-01T08:11:38","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T14:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/01\/kier-looks-to-grow-development-arm-with-400m-jv\/"},"modified":"2025-03-01T08:11:38","modified_gmt":"2025-03-01T14:11:38","slug":"kier-looks-to-grow-development-arm-with-400m-jv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/01\/kier-looks-to-grow-development-arm-with-400m-jv\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier looks to grow development arm with \u00a3400m JV"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/emap-romulus-prod.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2024\/03\/kier-pic--1024x683.jpg\"   alt=\"kier-pic--1024x683.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Kier Property has launched a new joint venture (JV) with financial services giant Investec Bank to develop urban logistics assets with a gross development value of \u00a3400m.<\/p>\n<p>The new Investec Realis JV announced its first project would be turning a 4.4-acre former office site in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, into a seven-unit trade and logistics park, providing 8,100 square metres of modern industrial space.<\/p>\n<p>Kier Property group managing director Leigh Thomas said: \u201cThis first acquisition on behalf of this new joint venture with Investec is a significant opportunity to deliver a sustainable and high-quality trade and logistics development in a prime location.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the JV said the project would be delivered to the highest institutional specification and is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification, in line with both companies\u2019 commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Realis has been operating since last year. It is the third time the companies have formed a development JV.<\/p>\n<p>Kier Property\u2019s accounts showed revenue almost doubled in the year to 30 June 2024 , reaching \u00a371m, up from \u00a337.6m in its prior financial year.<\/p>\n<p>The development business reported an operating profit of \u00a34.3m and accounted for 2 per cent of overall turnover at tier one contractor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/kier\/\">Kier Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kier Property\u2019s return on capital employed was 3.9 per cent in the period, some way off its target of 15 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The accounts said it was well-placed to reach the target over time and would benefit from an increase in the value and consistency of capital the wider group invests in it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/kier-looks-to-grow-development-arm-with-400m-jv-28-02-2025\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><br \/>\n Ian Weinfass<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kier Property has launched a new joint venture (JV) with financial services giant Investec Bank to develop urban logistics assets with a gross development value of \u00a3400m.
