Conor McGregor<\/a> wants to run it back with Khabib Nurmagomedov<\/a> in a NSFW rant on Twitter on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

McGregor and Nurmagomedov battled for the UFC lightweight title in one of the biggest \u2014 and most personal \u2014 fights in UFC history at UFC 229<\/a> in October 2018. Nurmagomedov dominated and stopped McGregor to retain the title. <\/p>\n

On Friday morning, McGregor tweeted a nasty tirade about Nurmagomedov, along with the Ireland vs. Dagestan rivalry that resurfaced ahead of the PFL: Road to Dubai main event between Usman Nurmagomedov<\/a> and Paul Hughes<\/a> this past weekend. Hughes showed respect towards Nurmagomedov saying that he\u2019s \u201cnot like this other guy,\u201d which most believe referred to McGregor \u2014 leading McGregor to blast Hughes in response, before Nurmagomedov defended Hughes in the aftermath<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The latter may have led to McGregor\u2019s heated answer \u2014 which has since been deleted \u2014 on Twitter. <\/p>\n

Nurmagomedov retired from MMA competition as UFC lightweight champion after submitting Justin Gaethje<\/a> at UFC 254<\/a> in October 2020. \u201cThe Eagle\u201d ended his Hall of Fame career at 29-0, and finishing all three of his title defenses \u2014 including his bout with McGregor.<\/p>\n

As far as McGregor goes, the former two-division champ hasn\u2019t competed since suffering a brutal leg injury in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier<\/a> at UFC 264<\/a> in July 2021. \u201cThe Notorious\u201d was slated to headline UFC 303<\/a> in June against Michael Chandler<\/a> before suffering a toe injury that delayed his long-awaited octagon return once again. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
