Super Falcons\u2019 and Al-Ittihad Ladies defender, Ashleigh Megan Plumptre, has penned a two-year contract extension with her club side in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Soccernet.ng<\/a> reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 26-year-old versatile defender joined the Saudi-based club after her contract with WSL side, Leicester City women, expired in the summer of 2023.<\/p>\n

Plumptre played all four games for the Nigerian national team at the Australia\/ New Zealand FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup in 2023, before making a move to the Middle East. Sixteen months later, she\u2019s extended her stay in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

In a social media<\/a><\/strong> post, made by the Al-Ittihad ladies official account, the club announced the extension of the Nigerian\u2019s stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cAl-Ittihad Club announces the renewal of the contract of the first women\u2019s team player, Nigerian international Ashley Plumptre, for two years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club\u2019s CEO, Mr. Domingos Oliveira, confirmed that renewing the player\u2019s contract comes within the club\u2019s strategy to retain distinguished players who have the desire to develop and serve the team better in the future, wishing Ashley Plumptre and her teammates success and to make the fans happy by achieving accomplishments,\u201d the club posted on their official X<\/a><\/strong> page.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
