\n\tAs Southern California attempts to recover from last week\u2019s wildfires, the Annenberg Foundation<\/a> and I Am Angel are hosting a virtual benefit.<\/p>\n

\n\tWill.i.am<\/a>, DJ Derrick \u2018D-Nice<\/a>\u2018 Jones, DJ Hed, Etienne Maurice and other special guests will appear in the \u2018L.A. Check In\u2019, streaming live on Instagram and YouTube on Thursday at 6pm from FYI Studios.<\/p>\n

\n\tFashioned after Jones\u2019 COVID-era \u2018Club Quarantine<\/a>\u2018, the benefit aims to provide inspiration and support for people devastated by wildfires while spotlighting the organizations that are on the front lines helping.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, stars like Paris Hilton, Milo Ventimiglia, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester and Billy Crystal have lost their homes<\/a> in the wildfires, which broke out in the Pacific Palisades<\/a>, Eaton Canyon<\/a>, Malibu<\/a>, the Hollywood Hills<\/a> and other areas around Los Angeles<\/a> County amid a \u201clife-threatening and destructive<\/a>\u201d windstorm that picked up last week.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs of Wednesday, at least 25 people have died<\/a> in the Southern California wildfires. Meanwhile, more than 105,000 people have received mandatory evacuation orders. Since the fires started, officers have made 44 arrests across the impacted areas, including for arson, burglary, breaking curfew and other violations.<\/p>\n

\n\tPresident Joe Biden<\/a>, who extended his Los Angeles trip last week to visit first responders<\/a> and those affected, declared the fires a major disaster<\/a> and directed the federal government to cover 100% of costs<\/a> for disaster assistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
