Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a>‘s heart wants what it wants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And when she was younger, the Only Murders in the Building<\/em> star’s heart was reserved for her two major celebrity crushes: Chad Michael Murray<\/strong><\/a> and Jesse McCartney<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In fact, she recalled a specific moment in 2004 when her crush on Jesse was at its height.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen \u2018Beautiful Soul\u2019 came out\u2014that was just life-changing for me,\u201d Selena told W<\/em> magazine<\/a> in an interview published Jan. 3 before explaining where her other crush originated. \u201cI loved Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

And while those two names came to mind now, the 32-year-old admitted that she also fell for other heartthrobs\u2014both onscreen and offscreen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“When I was younger, I probably had too many crushes,” Selena continued. “I also just had crushes more in real life than on actors or musicians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Case in point: The “Same Old Love” singer previously admitted to being smitten<\/a> with Cole Sprouse<\/strong><\/a> and a boy named Juan<\/strong>, sharing a video of her childhood bedroom showing that she’d written their names inside giant hearts on her wall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Captioning the throwback post<\/a>, Selena wrote, “Apparently my heart was very conflicted between Juan and Cole Sprouse when I was 11.”<\/p>\n

And while her crush on Cole never turned into anything more, Selena did wind up having her first onscreen kiss with someone very similar while guest-starring on\u00a0The Suite Life of Zack and Cody<\/em>: Cole’s twin brother Dylan Sprouse<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI actually leaned in to kiss him, and I had my eyes closed a little too early and I ended up missing, like, half of his lips,” the Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em> alum told Twist<\/a><\/em> magazine of the milestone moment. “So, it ended up being the most awkward kiss in the world. I was 12, so it was OK and it was good.”<\/p>\n

Of course, these days, Selena’s heart belongs to her fianc\u00e9 Benny Blanco<\/strong><\/a>, who she announced her engagement<\/a> to in December 2024 following one year of dating.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And for the “Same Old Love” singer, their romance is so much more than a crush<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the safest that I feel, and it\u2019s been really lovely,\u201d Selena told Apple Music\u2019s Zane Lowe<\/strong><\/a> in February 2024. \u201cAnd I\u2019ve only grown through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
