{"id":819963,"date":"2025-01-15T05:11:28","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T11:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/01\/15\/council-advertises-288m-roads-framework\/"},"modified":"2025-01-15T05:11:28","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T11:11:28","slug":"council-advertises-288m-roads-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/01\/15\/council-advertises-288m-roads-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Council advertises \u00a3288m roads framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/emap-romulus-prod.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/09\/Long-road.jpg\"   alt=\"Long-road.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Bristol City Council is seeking contractors for road-related projects that could be worth up to \u00a3288m over four years.<\/p>\n<p>The local authority published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.find-tender.service.gov.uk\/Notice\/000852-2025?origin=SearchResults&#038;p=1\">formal procurement notice<\/a> on 10 January for its Highway Asset Management and Civils Framework.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-lot deal will cover a range of jobs from bridge reconstruction to soil investigation works.<\/p>\n<p>Firms have almost three months to throw their hats in the ring, with requests to participate due before midday on 4 April.<\/p>\n<p>Lot 1 will cover planned carriageway surfacing works, while Lot 2 will focus on surface dressing and laying micro asphalt by machine and hand.<\/p>\n<p>A seasonal programme of preventative footway works will take place under Lot 3, including slurry seal and other treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Lot 4 will see installation of road markings and high-friction or coloured surfacing as well as joint and crack repair systems.<\/p>\n<p>The fifth lot will cover minor maintenance, new highways and traffic management schemes individually worth less than \u00a3500,000, while the sixth will be used for civils jobs above this threshold.<\/p>\n<p>Lot 7 will feature routine programmed structural repair works to highway structures under the \u00a3500,000 limit, with Lot 8 catching those jobs above this value.<\/p>\n<p>Geotechnical and soil investigation works will be carried out through Lot 9, and temporary traffic management via Lot 10.<\/p>\n<p>Up to four contractors will be awarded a place on each lot, other than Lot 8, which could feature six firms.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span>Kent County Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/civils\/kent-launches-2bn-roads-maintenance-tender-23-10-2024\/\">last year launched<\/a> a hunt for a contractor for a \u00a32bn <\/span><span>highways<\/span><span> maintenance contract <\/span><span>expected to last for up to\u00a0<\/span><span>21\u00a0<\/span><span>years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Haringey Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/civils\/haringey-extends-98m-road-deal-with-marlborough-23-09-2024\/\">in September extended<\/a> its road maintenance deal with Marlborough Highways, with the contract now worth up to \u00a398m in total.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/sections\/news\/council-advertises-288m-roads-framework-14-01-2025\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><br \/>\n Greg Pitcher<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol City Council is seeking contractors for road-related projects that could be worth up to \u00a3288m over four years.
