\n\tKatt Williams<\/a> has expressed his regret for past jokes he made about late music icon Michael Jackson<\/a>, as he believes they played into a damaging narrative against Black men.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring an interview at the\u00a0Vulture<\/em>\u00a0festival, Williams took accountability for going too hard at Jackson, although he didn\u2019t specify the context or nature of the jokes he was referring to.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI shouldn\u2019t have, honestly,\u201d the outspoken comic<\/a> admitted while speaking about his material pertaining to the late King of Pop.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, my job is to be funny first and to voice the opinion of a group that doesn\u2019t get to have their opinion out there, right? So as a Black man, if you don\u2019t love yourself, you don\u2019t love me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliams attributed his fixation on Jackson to his own mental health and being upset at Jackson, although he didn\u2019t specify the root of his unease. \u201cThose were the jokes of a guy that was hurt, you know?\u201d Williams added. \u201cBy an icon.\u201d <\/p>\n
