(RNS) \u2014 After an hour of preaching during the weekend worship service at his Dallas megachurch, Bishop T.D. Jakes was praying and speaking the words \u201cmy strength, my Redeemer,\u201d when he lowered his mic and appeared to be shaking in the chair where he was seated, according to a video<\/a> circulating on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring today\u2019s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attending following his powerful hour long message,\u201d reads a Sunday (Nov. 24) statement from The Potter\u2019s House of Dallas.<\/p>\n

In the video, about a dozen people can be seen rushing to Jakes\u2019 side within seconds as someone said over the megachurch\u2019s sound system: \u201cEverybody begin to pray. Come on, stretch your hands this way. Father, in the name of Jesus we speak life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jakes, a bestselling author, entertainment executive and traveling evangelist, is currently under medical supervision, his church said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter\u2019s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve \u201cScoop\u201d Jefferson, a reporter for Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA, posted on X about the incident, saying<\/a>: \u201cBishop Jakes believes he just got overheated at the end of service today and came back and spoke thanking everyone for their prayers after he \u2026 cooled down. THANK YOU JESUS!\u201d<\/p>\n

In a later posting, Jefferson added<\/a>: \u201cWitnessing this from the second row in church this morning during the Altar Call to Discipleship was startling to say the least. We also witnessed the Power of God as Men & Women cried out to the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later on Sunday, Jakes\u2019 daughter Sarah Jakes Roberts<\/a> and her husband, Tour\u00e9 Roberts, who are assistant pastors at The Potter\u2019s House, issued a video statement about her father. Introducing the statement, the X posting on The Potter\u2019s House account reads: \u201cHe\u2019s doing well. Thank you immensely for your prayers. They are working.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple also thanked supporters for their prayers and concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful that he\u2019s already beginning to improve,\u201d said Sarah Jakes Roberts, calling it a reminder going into the holiday season \u201cto love on the people who you hold near and dear, and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God\u2019s given you.\u201d<\/p>\n

His daughter called Sunday \u201can interesting day,\u201d and her husband described it as a \u201ctough day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tour\u00e9 Roberts described the strength of his father-in-law after the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, today could have been a tragic day, but it wasn\u2019t by the mercy of God, by the grace of God,\u201d he said. \u201cBishop is doing well. He\u2019s recovering well. He\u2019s under medical care. He\u2019s strong. We\u2019re trying to get him to sit down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple also are pastors of One LA, a California-based ministry that is part of The Potter\u2019s House.<\/p>\n
