British musician Example surprised social media followers by confirming the birth of his third child on Wednesday \u2013 his first with girlfriend Daisy Cox.<\/p>\n
The star, whose real name is Elliot Gleave, began dating art advisor Cox in 2023, just five months after confirming his separation from former wife Erin McNaught, with whom she shares two children.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Taking to Instagram on New Years Day, Example, 40, revealed the couple have since welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in a series of Instagram posts.<\/p>\n
Sharing the news with followers, the musician \u2013 who relocated to Australia from his native London more than a decade ago \u2013 admitted Daisy had gone into labour a month ahead of her estimated late January to early February due date.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He wrote: \u2018Lucas Winter Cox Gleave. Aka Lukey Baby\u2026 aka Gorge Lucas. 01.01.25.<\/p>\n

Sharing the news with followers, he admitted Daisy had gone into labour with son Luke a month ahead of her estimated\u00a0 late January to early February due date<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Example confirmed his relationship with Daisy, who bears a striking resemblance to his ex-wife, in March 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Five months earlier, the DJ revealed his nine year marriage to Erin \u2013 an Australian actress \u2013 was over, with the former couple focused on raising their two sons,\u00a0Evander, ten, and Ennio, 7.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Addressing the separation in a joint statement, they wrote: \u2018At the start of the UK summer we decided to separate. We have had an amazing 11 years together, but just a few too many adventures.<\/p>\n
\u2018Obviously we spent a lot of time behind the scenes trying to figure things out, but we came to the realisation that perhaps our time as a couple had just come to a natural end.<\/p>\n
\u2018So we have decided to go our separate ways whilst there is still an abundance of love and respect for one another.<\/p>\n
\u2018We have been Co-parenting happily and effectively now for almost half a year and our boys are surrounded with love.\u2019<\/p>\n
The pair admitted that Example\u2019s full schedule as a touring artist had resulted in Erin flying to London with their children so he wouldn\u2019t spend months on the road without seeing them \u2013 despite having already ended their marriage.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
They added: \u2018We had an amazing family holiday, and look forward to more in the future. We have had incredible support from our closest friends and family, who are proud of how are handling this separation.<\/p>\n

\u2018We would appreciate the space right now and don\u2019t want to be distracted by conversations over texts, social media or FaceTime when we need to devote so much time our own well-being and most importantly, that of our children.<\/p>\n
\u2018If you see us out and about together it\u2019s still the same old Elliot & Erin.<\/p>\n
\u2018Though we spend a lot of our time apart we still enjoy time together climbing, jogging, cinema, chasing kids around the park or getting coffee. Expect to see us out and about together with our children often.<\/p>\n
\u2018This is as amicable as it gets. Nobody is blaming anyone in all this. We are very happy that this is the right decision and hope that others can respect this too. Everything is as it should be.\u2019<\/p>\n
He previously shared a photo of himself with Erin and Daisy, who look very alike, confirming he was on amicable terms with his former wife\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In 2020, Example credited Erin with \u2018saving his life\u2019 after pushing himself to the extreme with drink and drugs.<\/p>\n
He said: \u2018Erin saved me from an early death. I was partying too much back in the day.\u2019<\/p>\n
The musician wrote a track about his wife for his 2020 comeback album, Some Nights Last For Days, detailing the emotional moment he played Erin the song in a 2020 interview with The Sun.<\/p>\n
\u2018I went to the studio with Johnny McDaid, who\u2019s a good friend of mine and is in Snow Patrol. Then I came home and played it to Erin and her parents, who were visiting. We were hugging and crying because it was so personal.<\/p>\n
In the song, Eye To Eye, he calls Erin his \u2018saviour\u2019.<\/p>\n
He explained of his dangerous lifestyle before meeting his wife: \u2018You\u2019re burning the candle at both ends, doing 120 festivals a year, 100 flights a year and you\u2019re partying four or five nights a week.<\/p>\n
\u2018I was lying to my ex and cheating on her. I wasn\u2019t close to my mum or dad or my sister any more, so Erin coming into my life helped me mend all those things.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
