In a recent live video, <\/a>John Deaton, the founder and host of Crypto Law, called for the SEC to release the highly anticipated report on the controversial 2018 speech by former SEC official William Hinman. The speech<\/a>, which gave Ethereum a regulatory pass, has raised serious concerns about potential conflicts of interest within the SEC.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the Issue?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Empower Oversight, an independent watchdog group, had asked the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to investigate possible conflicts of interest related to Hinman\u2019s speech. The investigation has been completed, and the report has been sent to SEC Chairman gary gensler<\/a> \"information\"<\/span> <\/a><\/span> gary gensler<\/span> <\/span> Gary Gensler is a pioneer and the current chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He has extensive experience that spans Wall Street, government regulation, and an angel teaching about cryptocurrencies and blockchain at MIT. Gary S. Gensler was on born October 18, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland.He graduated from Pikesville High School in 1975, where he was later given a Distinguished Alumnus award. He also earned a degree in economics.Gensler served in the United States Department of the Treasury as Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets from 1997 to 1999, then as Undersecretary for Domestic Finance from 1999 to 2001He has expressed his desire to present crypto-related approach changes later on that include token commitments, decentralized finance, stablecoins, guardianship, exchange-traded resources, and advancing stages. <\/span> <\/span> Chairman<\/span><\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span> However, it hasn\u2019t been made public yet.<\/p>\n

Deaton\u2019s Message to the SEC<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In response to the delay, Deaton, who represents 75,000 XRP holders in the Ripple case<\/a>, took action by calling the SEC Chairman\u2019s Office directly. In a respectful but firm message, he asked Gensler to release the report within the next 10 days. He also pointed out that the findings are of major interest to the public, especially to those following the Ripple case.<\/p>\n

Deaton\u2019s message was clear<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Call for Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Deaton encouraged others to join him in pushing for transparency. He urged people to call the SEC or send emails to ask for the report\u2019s release. The goal is to send a clear message that the public deserves to know what\u2019s in the report.<\/p>\n

Gensler will resign as SEC Chairman on January 20<\/a>, the same day as Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration<\/a>. Paul Atkins will take over as the new head of the SEC<\/a>. As the deadline approaches, the crypto community is rallying together in hopes of getting the SEC to release the Hinman report and ensure that government actions are held accountable.<\/p>\n
