The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed January 15, 2025, as the date for the official draw of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), Soccernet.ng<\/a> reports<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The ceremony will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, CAF revealed in a statement<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n

The much-anticipated draw will reveal the group-stage opponents for the Super Eagles B team, as the team makes their return to the tournament after a six-year absence.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s home-based team secured their CHAN spot with an impressive 3-1 aggregate victory over rivals Ghana<\/a> in the qualifiers. <\/p>\n

As preparations begin, head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has called up 26 players for a training camp at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. <\/p>\n

This camp will fine-tune the squad ahead of the tournament, which exclusively features players competing in their domestic leagues.<\/p>\n

The 2024 CHAN, scheduled to run from February 1 to February 28, will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.<\/p>\n

This is Kenya\u2019s first time hosting a continental football competition after failed attempts in 1996 and 2018.<\/p>\n

Recent progress on stadium upgrades at Kasarani and Nyayo has eased concerns about Kenya\u2019s readiness, while co-hosts Uganda and Tanzania have met CAF\u2019s requirements.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s best CHAN performances include a third-place finish in South Africa in 2014 and a runners-up position in 2018, where they fell to Morocco in the final. <\/p>\n

Despite these achievements, the Super Eagles B are yet to lift the trophy, a record they will aim to change in this edition.<\/p>\n

The tournament will feature 18 teams, including heavyweights like reigning champions Senegal, Morocco, DR Congo, and Zambia.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
