MARA Holdings<\/a> CEO Fred Thiel believes institutional involvement will significantly increase Bitcoin\u2019s value, positioning the flagship crypto as a long-term growth asset.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a Jan. 2 interview with FOX Business, Thiel encouraged retail investors to adopt a steady, long-term investment strategy by regularly purchasing small amounts of Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

Thiel noted that Bitcoin has only seen annual declines thrice over its 16-year history, with one taking place during \u201cthe pandemic\u2019s market disruption.\u201d He added that Bitcoin\u2019s average annual appreciation of 29% to 50% suggests that incremental, consistent investments could yield strong returns over time.<\/p>\n

Thiel also emphasized that growing accessibility through major financial institutions is reshaping market conditions. He pointed to major traditional institutions offering access to Bitcoin via platforms like Fidelity\u2019s E-Trade.<\/p>\n

He also predicted that BTC will climb to $200,000 by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

Heightened optimism<\/h2>\n

Thiel also pointed to broader policy shifts that could act as catalysts for Bitcoin\u2019s growth. He expressed optimism about the possibility of a US Bitcoin reserve under a more crypto-friendly administration.<\/p>\n

With David Sacks, a prominent crypto advocate, expected to take on an advisory role at the White House, Thiel anticipates regulatory adjustments that favor the digital asset sector.<\/p>\n

MARA Holdings continues to expand its position in Bitcoin, ending 2024 with 44,893 BTC \u2014 worth approximately $4.4 billion. The company acquired<\/a> over 22,000 BTC at an average price of $87,205 and mined 9,457 BTC throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Additionally, MARA reported a 15% boost in its mining capacity, surpassing its year-end goal by reaching 53.2 exahashes per second.<\/p>\n

Thiel\u2019s comments reflect a growing sentiment that institutional adoption and favorable regulations could shape Bitcoin\u2019s future, positioning it as an increasingly integral part of the financial landscape.<\/p>\n
