As 2024 winds down, more music trends in the year are being shared by music platforms (and even dating app Tinder). Beyond Spotify Wrapped<\/a>, here\u2019s what India has been listening to, from top-streamed artists and most-streamed songs.<\/p>\n Although not one to reveal too much data, this year, Apple Music Replay allowed artists and listeners to share specific details like total minutes in 2024. Going by their Tops Songs of 2024: India<\/a> playlist, it was a familiar name that came up at the Number One spot \u2013 Vishal Mishra and lyricist Raj Shekhar\u2019s \u201cPehle Bhi Main\u201d from the soundtrack to drama film Animal<\/em> (2023). Indie singer-songwriter Anuv Jain\u2019s \u201cHusn\u201d and Karan Aujla and Ikky\u2019s \u201cSoftly\u201d (both from 2023) took second and third place, respectively.<\/p>\n Artists like Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Aujla, Pritam, AP Dhillon and Shubh had several songs in the top 100. Globally, Hanumankind and Kalmi\u2019s \u201cBig Dawgs\u201d took the 39th spot on the Top 100 2024: Shazam<\/a> playlist, dedicated to the most popular songs of the year looked up on Shazam.<\/p>\n The broad headline with Amazon Music\u2019s Best of 2024<\/a> Rewind roundup was Karan Aujla\u2019s \u201cTauba Tauba\u201d from the movie Bad Newz <\/em>becoming the most-played song of the year in India. \u201cSajni\u201d from Laapataa Ladies<\/em> by Ram Sampath, Arijit Singh & Prashant Pandey is the most-streamed Hindi song.<\/p>\n Diljit Dosanjh is the top Punjabi Artist this year and Hanumankind ranks as top Indian Hip Hop Artist of 2024 on the platform. Best known for their film songs, artists like Sachin-Jigar, Shilpa Rao, Vishal Mishra, Arijit Singh and Anirudh Ravichander emerged as the highest-streamed artists this year.<\/p>\n Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s hit \u201cEspresso\u201d made her the top international song and artist of 2024 on Amazon Music. Elsewhere, Anuv Jain\u2019s song \u201cJo Tum Mere Ho\u201d was the <\/a>most requested song on Alexa<\/a> on Amazon Music for 2024 and Akshath Acharya\u2019s soothing viral hit song <\/a>\u201cNadaaniyan<\/a>\u201d took him to the top of Artists of Indian Indie.<\/p>\n Reporting a total of 100 million of monthly active users, there were few surprises in JioSaavn\u2019s yearly roundup of streaming trends. Like on Spotify and Apple Music, Vishal Mishra and Raj Shekhar\u2019s \u201cPehle Bhi Main\u201d from Animal <\/em>was the most streamed song on JioSaavn as well.<\/p>\n Following in the chart were Jasleen Royal and Arijit Singh\u2019s \u201cHeeriye,\u201d \u201cSajni\u201d by Arijit Singh, Ram Sampath and lyricist Prashant Pandey from Laapataa Ladies<\/em>; \u201cO Maahi\u201d by Arijit Singh from the movie Dunki<\/em>. Stree 2 <\/em>movie song \u201cAaj ki Raat\u201d by Madhubanti took fifth place, followed by Diljit Dosanjh\u2019s international crossover song \u201cHass Hass\u201d with Sia and Greg Kurstin and Anuv Jain\u2019s \u201cHusn\u201d and Badshah\u2019s \u201cSoulmate\u201d featuring Arijit Singh.<\/p>\n The top five streamed artists on the platform included Arijit Singh, Alka Yagnik, Pritam Chakraborty, Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal. Hindi, Telugu and Punjabi emerged as top three languages across India on JioSaavn.<\/p>\n Turns out it\u2019s not just music streaming platforms and social media that can indicate an artist\u2019s popularity. Based on data from Tinder Bios, Descriptors, and Interests from Jan. 1 to Oct. 1, 2024, they announced the Top Indian Spotify Artists heard by those on the dating app. It\u2019s topped by Anuv Jain, followed by Punjabi artists like Shubh, Karan Aujla with Ikky, Sidhu Moose Wala and AP Dhillon.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a different story when it comes to the Top Spotify Songs, however, with the top five not including a single Indian artist.
