Speak\u00ading at a press con\u00adfer\u00adence on Thurs\u00adday (De\u00adcem\u00adber 19, 2024), Ro\u00adget said work\u00aders are not en\u00adgaged in in\u00addus\u00adtri\u00adal ac\u00adtion, yet the Com\u00admis\u00adsion has been suc\u00adcess\u00adful in get\u00adting an in\u00adjunc\u00adtion which threat\u00adens the union with de\u00adcer\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion and jail for OW\u00adTU ex\u00adec\u00adu\u00adtives should they de\u00adfy it.<\/p>\n

Out\u00adlin\u00ading a range of con\u00adcerns, OW\u00adTU Vice Pres\u00adi\u00addent Reesa Ram\u00adlo\u00adgan-Ajod\u00adha said the union has been high\u00adlight\u00ading HSE vi\u00ado\u00adla\u00adtions which the pub\u00adlic should know about.<\/p>\n

She said garbage has been pil\u00ading up at the Dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion Cen\u00adtral in Point Lisas Gar\u00addens cre\u00adat\u00ading a haven for ro\u00addents and snakes. Like Ro\u00adget, she al\u00adso de\u00adnied work\u00aders were tak\u00ading in\u00addus\u00adtri\u00adal ac\u00adtion.<\/p>\n

Ram\u00adlo\u00adgan-Ajod\u00adha al\u00adso al\u00adleged that T&TEC was vi\u00ado\u00adlat\u00ading the col\u00adlec\u00adtive agree\u00adment as it re\u00adlates to health and safe\u00adty.<\/p>\n

“T&TEC field work\u00aders were be\u00ading forced to do over\u00adtime and work un\u00adder per\u00adilous con\u00addi\u00adtions,” she ex\u00adplained.<\/p>\n

Among the health and safe\u00adty is\u00adsues the OW\u00adTU ex\u00adec\u00adu\u00adtives raised were de\u00adfec\u00adtive trucks, de\u00adfec\u00adtive tools, in\u00adad\u00ade\u00adquate PPE, bul\u00adly\u00ading of work\u00aders to ex\u00ade\u00adcute jobs de\u00adspite ex\u00adpired per\u00admits, no train\u00ading and cer\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion for lift truck op\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtors, un\u00adtrained con\u00adtract work\u00aders, cov\u00ader\u00ading up of ac\u00adci\u00addents and a short\u00adage of man\u00adpow\u00ader.<\/p>\n
