GloRilla, like several other music stars<\/a> today, grew up in the church. On Sunday (Dec. 22), the Memphis phenomenon brought her gospel roots full circle during the latest airing of Caleb Pressley\u2019s \u201cSundae Conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n The episode began with the former college football player inquiring about GloRilla\u2019s time in the choir, to which she confidently responded, \u201cI can sing real good.\u201d He subsequently asked her to sing a slew of songs she admittedly was not familiar with, such as \u201cPiano Man\u201d by Billy Joel, \u201cRocket Man (I Think It\u2019s Going To Be A Long, Long Time)\u201d by Elton John and even The Beatles\u2019 \u201cHey Jude.\u201d<\/p>\n Fortunately, the pair eventually agreed on \u201cAmazing Grace,\u201d which Pressley jokingly credited to Jesus Christ. \u201cAmazing Grace, how sweet the sound \/ That saved a wretch like me,\u201d GloRilla<\/a> sang before bursting out into laughter as the host placed his right hand over his chest.<\/p>\n At one point in the sit-down, Pressley posed the question, \u201cGod\u2019s not Black or white, is He?\u201d GloRilla answered, \u201cWe don\u2019t know that. I don\u2019t know nothing.\u201d He then asked, \u201cDo you think he\u2019s Chinese?\u201d followed by the \u201cTGIF<\/a>\u201d hitmaker saying, \u201cStop playing so much. We\u2019ll never know until we see Him.\u201d<\/p>\n In April, GloRilla spoke with Tamron Hall about her early hopes of being a gospel singer. \u201cBoth my mom and dad were Christians, and we were in church all the time. If the church could\u2019ve been open seven days a week, we would\u2019ve been there every day,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n Her latest project, GLORIOUS<\/a><\/em>, also saw the Grammy-nominated artist paying homage to her gospel upbringing. In fact, the album\u2019s \u201cRAIN DOWN ON ME\u201d featured the likes of Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard and Chandler Moore.<\/p>\n The 15-song offering debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release in October. Other guest appearances included T-Pain, Fridayy, frequent collaborator Megan Thee Stallion, Sexyy Red<\/a>, Muni Long, BossMan Dlow and Latto.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
