A Republican has introduced a new bill aimed at empowering Donald Trump\u2019s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to be fully prepared to operate efficiently from the start of the next administration. <\/p>\n

In this initiative, Trump has appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the charge in streamlining the excessively large $6.5 trillion U.S. bureaucracy under the newly established Department of Government Efficiency.<\/p>\n

They plan to cut wasteful regulations and spending by specifically targeting the number of federal government employees.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Top Republican Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, is\u00a0leading DOGE\u2019s aggressive plans on a new \u2018DOGE Caucus\u2019 being set up in the Senate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the House side, Marjorie Taylor Greene was tapped for a powerful job\u00a0assisting DOGE by chairing a new congressional\u00a0subcommittee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first bill related to the DOGE, known as the REMOTE Act, has been exclusively shared with DailyMail.com by Ernst. This bill focuses on utilizing monitoring software to track the computer activity of government employees and mandating agencies to provide reports on the potential negative effects of remote work.<\/p>\n

It will also provide key information on how to get D.C. back to work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk, along with his toddler X, and Ramaswamy are on Capitol\u00a0Hill Thursday to meet with the lawmakers and get a plan in place heading into the next administration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DailyMail.com learned that Ernst will be pushing her new 60-page report outlining the most efficient ways for DOGE to root out abuse during their meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She found that only 6 percent of federal workers report in-person on a full-time basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The meetings come as Trump\u2019s former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said he hopes that Musk and Ramaswamy can fix the government after he \u2018failed miserably.\u2019<\/p>\n

Mulvaney said on\u00a0Piers Morgan Uncensored this week that he was in charge of government restructuring during Trump\u2019s first term.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But he \u2018failed miserably because everybody was against me,\u2019 he stated.<\/p>\n

\u2018The House, the Senate, even most of the agencies. I remember the secretary of defense was against the things the president wanted me to do.\u2019<\/p>\n

Mulvaney says he\u2019s hopeful Musk and Ramaswamy will be more successful in their pursuit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new bill will ensure accountability of teleworking federal workers by requiring agencies to \u2018periodically review the network traffic generated by each such teleworking employee.\u2019<\/p>\n

It will collect the \u2018average number of logins made\u2019 by every employee and the average duration of their time spent on the computer network.<\/p>\n

It will also collect the\u00a0network traffic that workers generate.<\/p>\n

With the GOP taking the majority in the Senate after the election last month, Ernst\u2019s bill has a better chance of passing in the next Congress.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last week, Ernst laid out 22 ways\u00a0Elon Musk\u00a0and Vivek Ramaswamy\u00a0can use their new agency DOGE to trim down the federal government.<\/p>\n

Musk is on Capitol Hill Thursday for a series of meetings about DOGE<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A source told DailyMail.com that Ernst and Vivek met last week to discuss her ideas to slash $1 trillion immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She was also at Mar-a-Lago last Saturday meeting with Trump, Musk and Treasury pick Howard Lutnick, DailyMail.com reported first.<\/p>\n

They plan to \u2018work hand in hand on cutting down the bureaucracy and reining in tax dollar abuse,\u2019 the source familiar with their discussion said.<\/p>\n

The senator said she met with Vivek to discuss how DOGE can be more effective<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Ernst was with Trump and Musk on Saturday at Mar-a-Lago\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The plan Ernst presented Vivek exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com lays out exactly how DOGE can quickly tackle the rising national debt by \u2018trimming the fat.\u2019<\/p>\n

Her first proposal is to address the massive issue of over 7,000 unused federal buildings\u00a0wasting over $8 billion per year just in operations and leases.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That includes getting federal workers back into the office after empty offices have cost American taxpayers billions of dollars.<\/p>\n

According to a survey, 68 percent of 625,568 staff worked three or four days from home.<\/p>\n

1. Fill or sell off vacant buildings wasting $8 billion per year<\/p>\n

2. Audit the IRS and workers \u2018who aren\u2019t paying their own taxes\u2019<\/p>\n

4. Cancel California \u2018gravy trains\u2019 costing $1.8 million per day<\/p>\n

In addition to unused physical office space, employees are facing productivity challenges due to the impersonal nature of remote work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve also been exposed for working from bathtubs, enjoying shooting pool, leaving early for happy hour and one who even collected a paycheck from jail.<\/p>\n

And many have even scored what Ernst calls \u2018bogus bonuses\u2019 that \u2018reward poor performance.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ernst\u2019s other top priorities include cutting taxpayer dollars going to \u2018sketchy\u2019 Chinese labs and exposing government \u2018boondoggle\u2019 projects wasting millions.<\/p>\n

She also is calling for an audit of the IRS after finding that over 5,000 employees of the agency haven\u2019t been paying their own taxes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And there are still billions in unspent COVID relief funds that Ernst says should be re-routed to offset the growing national debt.<\/p>\n

The Iowa senator also outlined the \u2018silly science\u2019 projects that Americans are funding with no real benefit.<\/p>\n

That includes projects finding answers to \u2018how fast can a shrimp run on a treadmill\u2019 and \u2018where does it hurt most to be stung by a bee.\u2019<\/p>\n

In addition, there was a study conducted looking into if water tastes better out of the bottle or the toilet and about \u2018how long it takes for a panda to poop.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ernst says it didn\u2019t stop there as taxpayers funded a study investigating whether a sour cream and onion chip looks like Elvis Presley.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018These might be fun to ask contestants on a game show, but the real question is: why are taxpayers supporting any of these studies?\u2019 questioned the lawmaker.<\/p>\n

Musk said in a statement last week that DOGE will \u2018send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Republicans have long complained about government over-spending and Trump touted that DOGE will accomplish its goals by July 4, 2026.<\/p>\n

Trump pledged that the pair would help him \u2018dismantle\u2019 government bureaucracy and \u2018slash excess regulations, cut wasteful spending, and restructure Federal Agencies.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018A smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence,\u2019 Trump said in the statement. \u2018I am confident they will succeed!\u2019<\/p>\n

Trump emphasized that the pair \u2018will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government\u2019 and \u2018drive large scale reform\u2019 by creating an \u2018entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.\u2019\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk and Ramaswamy have become some of Trump\u2019s top allies in the tech bro community. DOGE itself is a play on the cryptocurrency Musk sent into the stratosphere by posting about it on Twitter (before he purchased and renamed it).<\/p>\n

Musk officially endorsed Trump on the heels of the July 13 assassination attempt on the Republican at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The SpaceX, X and Tesla head joined Trump on the campaign trail on October 5 when the now president-elect returned to the Butler venue \u2013 memorably jumping around onstage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He put his money where his mouth was \u2013 offering a $1 million award each day to registered voters in battleground states.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk was with Trump and his family members at their election night shindig at Mar-a-Lago and has since been seen in meetings with the president-elect as he figures out who\u2019s in his Cabinet.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy is a Yale Law-educated entrepreneur who started\u00a0Roivant Sciences Ltd. a decade ago, which uses technology to aid drug development and other healthcare needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He wrote a popular book on the right:\u00a0Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America\u2019s Social Justice Scam<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy started out the 2024 election cycle by running for president himself \u2013 though stayed complimentary of the ex-president.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unlike candidates like New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Arkansas Gov.\u00a0Asa Hutchinson and former Rep. Will Hurd, who were\u00a0decidedly anti-Trump in the 2024 Republican primary, Ramaswamy touted the 78-year-old\u2019s accomplishments in office.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When Trump appeared to be the runaway favorite ahead of the early primaries, Ramaswamy never turned on the former president, like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley, allowing him to have a comfortable place to land in the Trump 2.0 White House.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy came in fourth place in the Iowa caucuses, suspending his campaign immediately afterward and endorsing Trump.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both Musk and Ramaswamy are billionaires \u2013 but Musk\u2019s net worth is estimated to be 304 billion and Ramaswamy is worth only one billion dollars.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Republican politicians have dreamed about the objectives of \u2018DOGE\u2019 for a very long time,\u2019 Trump said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018To drive this kind of drastic change, the Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government, and will partner with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk responded to the news by posting to X: \u2018The merch will be\u2019 and then typed out three fire emojis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s selection came amid a flurry of other picks from the President elect as he began to set out his inner circle of loyal allies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
