{"id":812552,"date":"2024-12-17T21:14:48","date_gmt":"2024-12-18T03:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/17\/contractors-alerted-for-200m-university-refurb-framework\/"},"modified":"2024-12-17T21:14:48","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T03:14:48","slug":"contractors-alerted-for-200m-university-refurb-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/17\/contractors-alerted-for-200m-university-refurb-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Contractors alerted for \u00a3200m university refurb framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/emap-romulus-prod.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/05\/refurbishment.jpg\"   alt=\"refurbishment.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Contractors have been put on standby for a four-year framework to refurbish university buildings in England.<\/p>\n<p>The framework \u2013 which will include \u201call aspects of refurbishment works\u201d \u2013 is worth \u00a3200m, and could cover any parts of university sites including laboratories, lecture theatres, libraries, cafes, and offices.<\/p>\n<p>The contractors could also be asked to work on public areas, meeting rooms, conference rooms, accommodation sites and plant areas.<\/p>\n<p>Contractors appointed to the framework should also expect to get work on \u201cbuildings of varying age\/condition, listed\/heritage type buildings\u201d, according to a contract notice published last Friday (13 December).<\/p>\n<p>The framework is split into four lots depending on the value of the work, while each lot has been split into sub-lots for different areas of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Lot one \u2013 for work worth up to \u00a3250,000 \u2013 is split into three sub-lots, covering the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, and the Midlands. The North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) \u2013 the framework client \u2013 has valued lot one at \u00a330m, split equally three ways across the sub lots.<\/p>\n<p>The second lot \u2013 worth \u00a330m in total &#8211; will be for work worth between \u00a3250,000 and \u00a31.5m, and is split into two sublots, covering Yorkshire and the Humber, and the Midlands. The \u00a330m pot will be split equally across the two sub lots.<\/p>\n<p>The third and fourth lots are also split into two sublots each for work in Yorkshire and the Humber and the Midlands. Lot three is for work worth between \u00a31.4m and \u00a34m, while the fourth lot is for work valued at between \u00a34m and \u00a310m.<\/p>\n<p>NEUPC has earmarked \u00a350m for lot three, and \u00a390m for lot three. Again, those are split equally across the sub-lots.<\/p>\n<p>The initial framework will run for four years, but could get a two-year extension.
