{"id":810266,"date":"2024-12-04T23:15:22","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T05:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/04\/uae-residence-visa-medical-fitness-test-requirements-explained\/"},"modified":"2024-12-04T23:15:22","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T05:15:22","slug":"uae-residence-visa-medical-fitness-test-requirements-explained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2024\/12\/04\/uae-residence-visa-medical-fitness-test-requirements-explained\/","title":{"rendered":"UAE residence visa: Medical fitness test requirements explained"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>According to the official UAE government website \u2013 u.ae \u2013 foreign nationals need to be free from all forms of communicable diseases such as HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and TB (Tuberculosis).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the following categories of workers should test negative for syphilis and Hepatitis B:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Workers in nurseries<br \/>\u2022 Domestic workers including housemaids, nannies and drivers<br \/>\u2022 Food handlers and workers in restaurants and cafes<br \/>\u2022 Workers in saloons and beauty centres<br \/>\u2022 Workers in health clubs<\/p>\n<p>Female domestic workers must test negative for pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>The emirate of Abu Dhabi screens foreign nationals to detect pulmonary tuberculosis by a chest x-ray; however, the emirate of Dubai does not, according to u.ae.<\/p>\n<p>A new Cabinet Resolution was passed in 2016. As per this resolution, all resident expatriates while renewing their residence visas have to undergo TB screening. Those found with scars or active TB or found having drug-resistant TB will be issued a conditional fitness certificate and be issued residence visa for one year. They will then have to undergo treatment in the UAE.<\/p>\n<p><h2>When do I need to do a medical fitness test?<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Medical fitness tests are needed when applying for a new residence or employment visa or at the time of visa renewal. The medical fitness test is not required for residents who are under the age of 18.<\/p>\n<p><h2>Where can I get a medical fitness test done?<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p>Once you have <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/living-in-uae\/visa-immigration\/uae-family-visa-minimum-salary-process-and-requirements-explained-2024-guide-1.1731327989671\">applied for your visa<\/a>\u00a0at an immigration customer happiness centre (Amer in Dubai or Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security \u2013 ICP \u2013 in other emirates), you will then need to take your medical fitness test.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on which emirate you are applying in, the centre that you need to visit will be different.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Documents required<\/p>\n<p>\n            When going for your medical fitness test, make sure you carry the following documents with you:<br \/>&#8211; Copy of the entry permit (for a new visa) or copy of the residence visa (for visa renewal)<br \/>&#8211; Original passport<br \/>&#8211; Original Emirates ID (for visa renewal)<br \/>&#8211; Clear photograph<br \/>&#8211; A mobile number and email.\n        <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><h3>Abu Dhabi<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>In Abu Dhabi, you will need to visit a Disease Prevention and Screening Centre. These are operated by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). Here is a list of all the centres:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. The Galleria Al Maryah Island<\/strong><br \/>Location: Third floor, cinema side<br \/>Timings: Every day: 10am \u2013 7pm (Last application is accepted at 6.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Abu Dhabi Disease Prevention and Screening Centre<\/strong><br \/>Location: Hazza Bin Zayed Street, close to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 7pm (Last application is accepted at 6.30pm), Sunday: 8am \u2013 5pm (Last application is accepted at 4.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Al Shahama<\/strong><br \/>Location: Al Shahama healthcare centre, Al Sinad Street<br \/>Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 4pm (Last application is accepted at 3.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Baniyas<\/strong><br \/>Location: Al Qadah Street, close to Lulu Hypermarket, Baniyas<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 4pm (Last application is accepted at 3.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Etihad<\/strong><br \/>Location: Khalifa A, Etihad Plaza<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 4pm (Last application is accepted at 3.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Musaffah<\/strong><br \/>Location: Street 28, Behind BMW Showroom, Musaffah<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 5pm (Last application is accepted at 4.30pm) and Sunday: 8am \u2013 5pm (Last application is accepted at 4.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Al Ain Disease Prevention and Screening Centre<\/strong><br \/>Location: Shakhboot Bin Sultan Street (#131), Opposite Al Ain Hospital, Al Ain<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 5pm (Last application is accepted at 4.30pm) and Sunday: 8am \u2013 5pm (Last application is accepted at 4.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Sweihan<\/strong><br \/>Location: Next to Sweihan Clinic, Sweihan, Al Ain<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 4pm (Last application is accepted at 3.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Al Marfa<\/strong><br \/>Location: Al Marfa Hospital Building, Al Marfa, Western Region<br \/>Timings: Monday to Friday: 7am \u2013 4pm (Last application is accepted at 3.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. Al Qurm Centre<\/strong><br \/>Location: First floor, Makani Mall, Al Shamkha<br \/>Timings: Sunday to Friday: 9am \u2013 6pm (Last application is accepted at 5.30pm)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The cost for a regular medical fitness test is <strong>Dh250<\/strong> and you can book an appointment online, by visiting the website: visascreening.seha.ae<\/p>\n<p><h3>Dubai<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>In Dubai, you would need to visit a medical fitness centre operated by Dubai Health, which has over 20 centres spread across the emirate. You can select the medical fitness test centre that you prefer to visit when you are putting in the initial application fo your visa.
