The project will include a new six-storey building comprising luxury retail units, some Category A offices and a rooftop restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>It will retain the building\u2019s original facade and will incorporate the nearby 2 Hans Crescent \u2013 which will be demolished and rebuilt \u2013 and the ground floor of 49 Pavilion Road.<\/p>\n<p>In a planning presentation to the local council, property investor Cadogan Estate \u2013 which appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/galliford-try\/\">Galliford Try<\/a> to the job &#8211; said the original facade of 30-33 Sloane Street \u201cmakes a positive contribution\u201d to the local conservation area and should be retained. But it added that the original character of 2 Hans Crescent had \u201cbeen diluted by changes made in the 1950s\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo 2 [Hans Crescent] was substantially altered so that its original appearance as an individual Tudorbethan-style house can no longer be seen,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>Galliford Try also announced a new \u00a334m job to build a 12,400 square metre site for Big Yellow Self Storage in Wapping, east London.<\/p>\n<p>That site will be up to eight storeys high. As well as the self-storage facility, it will include flexible office space and has been designed to target BREEAM excellent rating.<\/p>\n<p>Galliford Try chief executive Bill Hocking said maintaining organic growth in its building business was \u201ca key part of our sustainable growth strategy\u201d, adding that it had a \u201cstrong\u201d track record in the commercial sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working with both of these blue-chip clients to create schemes that we can be proud of and that enhance the local environment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Galliford Try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/galliford-try\/infrastructure-investment-drives-galliford-try-turnover-to-1-8bn-03-10-2024\/\">boosted its turnover to \u00a31.8bn in its latest accounts for the year<\/a> to 30 June 2024, thanks mainly to bumper jobs in the infrastructure sector, including the Anglian Framework, contracts from Southern Water and the \u00a33.7bn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/civils\/kier-and-galliford-try-among-winners-on-3-7bn-wessex-water-framework-27-09-2024\/\">Wessex framework<\/a>.
