An unlikely reality TV crossover. Savannah Chrisley<\/strong><\/a> and Colton Underwood<\/a><\/strong> got candid about going on a date four years before the former Bachelor came out as gay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we met the first time, I knew you were gay. Like, I knew it,\u201d the 25-year-old Chrisley Knows Best<\/em> alum began on an episode of her \u201cUnlocked with Savannah Chrisley\u201d podcast<\/a> titled \u201cMy Gay Ex-Lover.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cIt was the ACM Awards. \u2026 It was after Luke Kennard<\/strong><\/a> and I broke up. I was like, \u2018All right, screw this.\u2019 You know how it goes. You go through a breakup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood, 31, who was linked<\/a> to Aly Raisman<\/strong><\/a> earlier that year, felt the same way. \u201cI was coming off of a breakup [too]<\/a> and I was just like, \u2018Oh, why not. Let\u2019s go see,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The twosome agreed that there was \u201cno connection\u201d for \u201cobvious reasons,\u201d with Underwood adding: \u201cWhen I say, \u2018It\u2019s not you, it\u2019s me,\u2019 I truly mean that. And obviously, I\u2019ve proven that at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to recall a chat with Savannah\u2019s dad, Todd Chrisley<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember riding to the carpet with your dad and he leans over and he goes, \u2018Son, my daughter is not ready for a man like you,\u2019\u201d Underwood said. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Todd, I\u2019m not ready for your daughter either.\u2019 I didn\u2019t say that, but I just remember him saying that to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Savannah then admitted that she spent time with another guy after the awards show. \u201cI remember looking at [my friend] Emily<\/strong>, and I was like, \u2018He\u2019s totally gay,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cShe was like, \u2018No, he\u2019s not, Savannah.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood went on to appear on season 14 of The Bachelorette<\/em> and season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise<\/em> before starring as the season 23 Bachelor. During his stint as the lead, which aired in 2019, the former football player met Cassie Randolph<\/strong><\/a> and they dated for more than one year. In April 2021, Underwood came out during an interview on Good Morning America.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I sent [Emily] the link or something and I was like, \u2018Told you so!\u2019\u201d Savannah said of seeing Underwood on GMA.<\/p>\n

Less than one year later, Underwood got engaged to Jordan C. Brown.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no true timeline,\u201d the Coming Out Colton<\/em> star told Us Weekly<\/em> in March 2022<\/a>. \u201cLife happens. Who knows, maybe I\u2019ll wake up tomorrow and want to start the process. But as of right now, we\u2019re sort of enjoying this moment and taking it as it comes.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe knew very early on that we were meant to be for each other. My only thing was, \u2018I want to be surprised when you ask me.\u2019 So he did a great job.\u201d<\/p>\n
