GEEKOM has announced that it has collaborated with Asus on its latest mini-PC. The AS 6 is backed to “outshine” Intel’s NUC 13 Pro with a Ryzen 9 6900HX top-end model. It also boasts dual USB4 and dual HDMI 2.1 ports in a MIL-STD-810H-rated chassis and, thus, multiple high-res monitors. The new GEEKOM x Asus AS 6 is available to pre-order from now.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

GEEKOM<\/a> has “teamed up<\/i>” with Asus<\/a> to present a new mini-PC<\/a> “with better overall performance than the Intel NUC 13 Pro<\/a><\/i>“. Accordingly, the AS 6 is backed to be the ideal new tiny desktop PC for either work or gaming.\n<\/p>\n

Then again, the only graphics in evidence here are conferred by those that come integrated with the AS 6’s<\/a> choice of the Ryzen 7 6800H<\/a> or 9 6900HX<\/a> processors. Nevertheless, those Radeon 680M<\/a> graphics seem to be most of the basis for GEEKOM’s Arena Canyon<\/a>-beating claims, as they deliver performance increased by “nearly 90% compared to Intel Iris Xe Graphics<\/a><\/i>“.\n<\/p>\n

The AS 6’s all-AMD platform is also cooled by a “Smart Fan<\/i>” system that can switch between “Performance<\/i>” and “Quiet<\/i>” modes, or be muffled through AI, via the MyASUS<\/a> solution. There are also pre-loads<\/a> for mobile device pairing and wireless connectivity optimization courtesy of GEEKOM’s new partner.\n<\/p>\n

That software will be acting on Wi-Fi 6E<\/a> and Bluetooth 5.2 <\/a>specs, not to mention dual HDMI 2.1<\/a> ports, especially if they are used with the AS 6’s front and rear USB4<\/a> ports to create the quad-4K monitor the mini-PC is rated to maintain.\n<\/p>\n

Alternatively, the device could drive a single 8K<\/a> display via 1 of those type-C ports – furthermore, there is also 1 DisplayPort 1.4 for an up-to-5K<\/a> monitor; however, none of them seem to be capable at running at anything over 60Hz. In addition, the AS 6 can only support up to 32GB of RAM, whereas the NUC 13 Pro can accommodate 64GB.\n<\/p>\n

Then again, the new GEEKOM x Asus<\/a> mini-PC comes with the maximum amount of RAM out of the box at a starting pre-order price of US$659<\/a> for a 7 6800H<\/a>-powered SKU, or US$90 more for one with the top-end 9 6900HX<\/a> option.\n<\/p>\n
