Dorian Nakamoto denied involvement with Bitcoin\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

In a video shared by @CryptoNewsYes<\/a>, Dorian Nakamoto clarified that he had nothing to do with building Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>) \u2014 stating that he was \u201cjust an engineer doing something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe main reason I\u2019m here is to clear my name; that I have nothing to do with Bitcoin, nothing to do with developing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Furthermore, he revealed that during the early development of Bitcoin in 2001, he was working as a government contractor \u2014 he did not state the nature of this role.<\/p>\n

When presented with copies of messages \u2014 presumably from the Bitcointalk.org forum in which Satoshi Nakamoto communicated development progress \u2014 Dorian Nakamoto said, \u201cI never communicated with Bitcoins\u201d \u2014 adding that in 2010, when the messages were dated from, \u201cI was at home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Satoshi Nakamoto mystery<\/h2>\n

The identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto is shrouded in mystery.<\/p>\n

The Bitcoin community has put forward several likely candidates, including the late Hal Finney \u2013 a cryptographer who was extensively involved in the development of Bitcoin. Finney was the first recipient of a BTC transfer, and some speculate that he sent those first Bitcoins to himself.<\/p>\n

Programmer Nick Szabo is another popular choice. Szabo had already developed a decentralized, proof-of-work virtual currency called \u201cBit gold<\/a>,\u201d publishing its paper in 1998 \u2014 more than a decade before Bitcoin rolled out.<\/p>\n

More recently, with the discovery of the Bitcoin whitepaper embedded in every Mac operating system from Catalina onwards, there has been renewed speculation connecting Steve Jobs<\/a> to Satoshi Nakamoto.<\/p>\n

However, the individual or group that created Bitcoin is widely considered technically competent at coding and cryptography \u2014 which Jobs was not.<\/p>\n

Apple co-founder Steven Wozniak<\/a> said Jobs never coded but was proficient enough at it \u201cto alter and change and add to other designs\u201d occasionally. Wozniak describes Jobs more as a visionary.<\/p>\n

\u201cSteve didn\u2019t ever code. He wasn\u2019t an engineer and he didn\u2019t do any original design.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dorian Nakamoto<\/h2>\n

Public information on Dorian Nakamoto<\/a> described him as an American-Japanese physicist who had adopted libertarian views after being fired from jobs multiple times.<\/p>\n

Since being \u201couted\u201d by Newsweek<\/a> in 2014, Dorian has consistently denied being Satoshi Nakamoto \u2014 saying the connection has caused him and his family frequent stress.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI did not create, invent or otherwise work on Bitcoin. I unconditionally deny the Newsweek report.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In a coincidental twist, at one point, Dorian lived close to Finney in Temple City, California.<\/p>\n
