According to data from Dune Analytics, the drop in active daily users has also affected NFT sales across NFT <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/crypto-exchange-reviews\"><span>exchanges <\/span><\/a><span>in the last week. Although there\u2019s no clear reason to explain the drop, some think that increasing transaction costs and the onset of the tax season are likely culprits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>OpenSea Hanging on the Balance<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>According to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/sealaunch\/NFT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span> Dune Analytics<\/span><\/a><span>, the number of unique traders across the top three NFT exchanges, LooksRare, OpenSea and Blur, touched lows of 7,805 on April 19 values last seen roughly two months after<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/crypto-crash-three-things-we-learnt\"><span> the May 2021 crypto crash<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">there\u2019s been an incredible drop off in unique NFT buyers\/sellers in the last week<\/p>\n<p>less than 10k wallets now on all platforms<\/p>\n<p>(h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SeaLaunch_?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SeaLaunch_<\/a> ) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pkem6v8rOe\">pic.twitter.com\/pkem6v8rOe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Giancarlo (@GiancarloChaux) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GiancarloChaux\/status\/1648911488290291712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 20, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>NFT sales across trading platforms also took a hit, plummeting to 16,149 on April 19. Such lows in the number of sales were close to the 12,910 witnessed in early November 2021. On <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dune.com\/sealaunch\/blur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span>Blur<\/span><\/a><span>, the 90-day NFT sales reached a low of 5,688 on April 20 while the number of daily unique users touched a 3-month low of 1,777.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>OpenSea also saw a decline in daily users but the values didn\u2019t reach the lows recorded in 2021. Although there aren\u2019t clear reasons to support the drop, increasing gas fees and the fading NFT trading hype on Blur are possible reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Ethereum NFT Marketplace Lost $5.6 Billion<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>The Dune Analytics analysis comes two months after reports emerged showing that the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/ethereum-nft-market-lost-5-6-billion-in-2022\"><span>Ethereum NFT market lost $5.6 billion <\/span><\/a><span>last year, a phenomenon that seems to cross over to 2023.
