Now <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sarahintampa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sarah<\/a> writes that less than a year after acquiring Heardle, Spotify is shutting down the game. You get six guesses as to why, but to the tune of tears being shed across the internet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/04\/14\/parler-shut-down-temporarily-acquired-digital-media-company-starboard\/\"><strong>Speaking of being shut down<\/strong><\/a>: Parler, the social media network that emerged when former president Donald Trump was banned from other sites, has a new owner. <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2022\/12\/01\/kanye-west-isnt-buying-parler-after-all\/\">No, not Ye<\/a>, but digital media company Starboard. Oh, and Starboard has plans to shut it down temporarily so that it can be revamped.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AiishaMalik1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Aisha<\/a> has more.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/04\/14\/zoom-acquires-ireland-based-employee-communications-platform-workvivo\/\"><strong>Zoom will see you now<\/strong><\/a>: To boost its asynchronous offerings, Zoom is acquiring Ireland-based employee communications platform Workvivo.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/psawers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Paul<\/a> writes that Workvivo had the \u201cremote-work revolution\u201d on lock, which is probably what attracted Zoom to it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Startups and VC<\/h2>\n<p>James Murdoch\u2019s venture fund Bodhi Tree <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/04\/14\/murdoch-fund-bodhi-cuts-investment-in-reliance-backed-viacom18\/\">slashed its planned investment into Viacom18 to $528 million<\/a>, down 70% from the committed $1.78 billion, the two said late Thursday as the weakening global economy hammers investors\u2019 appetite, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/refsrc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manish<\/a> reports.
