The Orioles are celebrating home runs with a beer-less beer funnel which makes them the winner of the home run celebration derby.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Over the last few years we\u2019ve seen turnover props take over college football. The phenomenon is now taking over baseball with home run props. And the Orioles<\/a> just won first prize.<\/p>\n

After home runs, Baltimore\u2019s hitters won\u2019t wear something, like the Angels and their Samurai home run helmet, they\u2019ll have to chug something out of a funnel.<\/p>\n

Ryan Mountcastle demonstrated the practice with the help of James McCann after his first home run of the season on Monday.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry, that wasn\u2019t a can of beer Mountcastle was chugging. It was just a bottle of water delivered in the most frat house friendly way possible.<\/p>\n

Football Orioles embrace \u201chomer hose\u201d to celebrate home runs<\/h2>\n

But don\u2019t go calling it a \u201cdong bong\u201d as some on Twitter have taken to doing<\/a>. Pitcher Kyle Gibson revealed the true name of the celebratory prop: Homer Hose.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to make sure that it\u2019s rebranded a little bit. It\u2019s a homer hose \u2014 not a dong bong. It\u2019s a homer hose. Just like as a kid, you go out back, you take a drink from the water hose after you play outside playing whiffle ball,\u201d Gibson told Luke Jones of BaltimorePositive.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whatever you want to call it, it\u2019s magnificent.<\/p>\n

The Orioles are going to be very well-hydrated this season if they keep hitting bombs. We can thank Cole Irvin and Keegan Akin for coming up with the idea, per Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner.<\/p>\n

On Monday, they beat the Athletics 5-1 to improve to 5-5 on the season. Along with Mountcastle, Adley Rutchman and Austin Hayes hit homers.<\/p>\n

Baltimore may not be ready to contend for the AL East (certainly not with Tampa Bay on the ridiculous tear they\u2019re on) but they have some young stars and they\u2019re becoming an entertaining bunch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
