{"id":624228,"date":"2023-04-01T02:54:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-01T07:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.sellorbuyhomefast.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/01\/mlb-investigating-rendon-altercation-with-fan\/"},"modified":"2023-04-01T02:54:00","modified_gmt":"2023-04-01T07:54:00","slug":"mlb-investigating-rendon-altercation-with-fan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/01\/mlb-investigating-rendon-altercation-with-fan\/","title":{"rendered":"MLB investigating Rendon altercation with fan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Major League Baseball says it is investigating a confrontation between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/laa\/los-angeles-angels\">Angels<\/a> third baseman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/32098\/anthony-rendon\">Anthony Rendon<\/a> and an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/oak\/oakland-athletics\">Athletics<\/a> fan at Thursday&#8217;s season opener in Oakland.<\/p>\n<p>In a 12-second video posted on social media, Rendon grabs the fan by the shirt through the guardrails and accuses the fan of calling him a &#8220;b&#8212;-.&#8221; Rendon continues to challenge the fan as he denies the claim. Rendon then calls the fan a &#8220;motherf&#8212;er&#8221; and takes a swipe, which does not connect, as he lets go of the shirt and proceeds to leave the area.<\/p>\n<p>No video showing what led to the altercation was immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are aware of the video and we are now looking into the matter,&#8221; MLB said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The Angels said they had no comment on the situation and that Rendon would discuss what happened with reporters before Saturday&#8217;s game against Oakland.<\/p>\n<p>Rendon was 0-for-3 in the Angels&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/game\/_\/gameId\/401471018\">2-1, Opening Day loss<\/a> to the Athletics.
