Lawyer Joe Tacopina twice this weekend characterized the former president’s attacks against District Attorney Alvin Bragg as unwise<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\tEven Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s<\/span> attorney declined to defend social media posts from the former president attacking Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg<\/a>, including an image of Trump wielding a baseball bat next to a picture of Bragg\u2019s head. A lawyer representing Trump, Joe Tacopina, characterized as \u201cill-advised\u201d that post and another where Trump warned of \u201cdeath and destruction\u201d<\/a> if he is criminally charged for a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Tacopina\u2019s Sunday appearance on Meet the Press<\/em>, host Chuck Todd listed the various attacks Trump has made against Bragg. \u201cMr. Trump has described Alvin Bragg this week as a \u2018Soros backed animal.\u2019 He said he was doing the work of anarchists and the Devil, called him a degenerate psychopath, and he called him a Soros racist in reverse, saying, \u2018This is the Gestapo.\u2019 As his lawyer, do you stand by those comments?\u201d Todd asked. \u201cWould you advise a client to personally attack a prosecutor like this? I mean, it\u2019s dehumanizing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m not his social media consultant. I think that was an ill-advised post that one of his social media people put up, and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric and the photo that was attached to it,\u201d Tacopina responded.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut Todd pointed out that Trump left up a number of other posts attacking the prosecutor. \u201cYou\u2019re only referring to the baseball bat,\u201d Todd retorted. \u201cHe didn\u2019t take down the other rhetoric\u2026 We went through Jan. 6, so this is not like a possibility that Trump\u2019s rhetoric creates violence. It\u2019s already happened once. Are you not concerned this could happen?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t \u201cI\u2019m not accepting that proposition, that his rhetoric created violence. I think violence was on the way that day,\u201d Tacopina said. He then claimed that he is \u201cnot a Trump PR person.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTacopina also appeared on MSNBC this weekend, speaking to Al Sharpton. During the Saturday interview, he again said that Trump\u2019s rhetoric on social media was \u201cill-advised,\u201d this time referring to a post where Trump predicted \u201cdeath and destruction\u201d<\/a> if he is charged in the Daniels case.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Friday, Bragg\u2019s office received a threatening letter<\/a> that contained an unidentified white powder. News of the letter broke shortly after Trump\u2019s \u201cdeath and destruction\u201d post.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
