\n\tJeff Goldblum<\/a> shared a brief tease about the set of Universal Pictures<\/a>\u2019 upcoming adaptation of Broadway mainstay Wicked<\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter<\/em> previously reported<\/a> that the Jurassic Park<\/em> star was in talks to sign on to the Jon M. Chu-directed film as the Wizard, and he confirmed his role during Wednesday\u2019s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>!<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was just on this set of Wicked<\/em>. I\u2019m not supposed to talk about that, but it\u2019s been out and about,\u201d he said while talking about one time when he brought his two sons, River and Charlie, to set.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe then explained to Kimmel that they showed his children \u201cone of my favorite movies\u201d \u2013 1939\u2019s The Wizard of Oz<\/em> \u2014 but that it didn\u2019t go over well with them. \u201cIt was too scary for them,\u201d Goldblum said. \u201cThat witch is terrifying. Margaret Hamilton, terrifying.\u201d He later added that they didn\u2019t even make it through the whole movie.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile on the topic of witches, the Independence Day<\/em> actor also mentioned his Wicked<\/em> co-stars, saying, \u201cYou should see our witches, Cynthia Erivo\u00a0and\u00a0Ariana Grande<\/a>, very good.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tErivo was previously cast to play Elphaba, with Grande taking the role of Glinda in the film based on the novel by Gregory Maguire and its Broadway musical adaptation. Bridgerton\u00a0<\/em>star Jonathan Bailey was later revealed<\/a> to be playing love interest Fiyero and Michelle Yeoh will take on the role of Madame Morrible<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tGoldblum went on to tell Kimmel about an emotional moment on set. \u201cI shouldn\u2019t talk about it, but I was shooting one day, and I found myself tearing up in fear, a childhood fear came back to me,\u201d he recalled. He told his co-star Erivo about a nightmare he had as a child that involved a \u201cvery scary queen\/witch,\u201d who tied him to a tree stump and was \u201cgoing to chop off my head.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe said his two older brothers teased him about getting scared over the bad dream for weeks, but that \u201cwitches scare me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe big-screen adaptation is being\u00a0<\/em>divided up into two movies, with the first film set to be released<\/a> Nov. 27, 2024, and the second coming the following year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
