dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Intelligent<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Control<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Systems<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Ltd.<\/span> has presented a new light redirecting film that is reportedly able to improve the power yield of a heterojunction (HJT) solar panel by <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3.8%<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Called <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Solar<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Energy<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Optics<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(SEO)<\/span>, the patented film is able, according to the manufacturer, to reduce <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">losses<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">in<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">edge<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">area of heterojunction solar cells. \u201cBy applying the SEO film to the inside of the HJT module front glass, light is redirected from the less efficient edges into the more efficient regions of the cells,\u201d the company said in a statement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The new product is still not available for sale. \u201c<span lang=\"en-US\">We have just entered into pilot production phase with our latest SEO film generation,\u201d the company&#8217;s CEO, Keimo Kalliosaari, told <strong>pv magazine<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Fraunhofer<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Institute<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Solar<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Energy <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) tested the film on several panels based on different two different SEO configurations and M6 half-cut HJT solar cells with 1.7 mm cells and 2 mm string gaps. \u201cThe solar cells in the test were used out-of-the-box, without any additional modification or sorting,\u201d the company specified. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to Intelligent Control Systems, the test showed that the modules with the two different SEO architectures saw their power conversion efficiency increase by 0.66% and 0.75%, respectively, which it said corresponds to a <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3.3<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">%<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3.8<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">%<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">growth in power yield. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cThe<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">results<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">show<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">application<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">SEO<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">film<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">a<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">120<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\"
