By itself <a href=\"https:\/\/launchstudio.bluetooth.com\/ListingDetails\/167647\">the listing<\/a> isn\u2019t anything interesting. It\u2019s for an unnamed pair of wireless earphones with the model number B154 running the Bluetooth 5.2 standard. But that model number, B154, previously appeared in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.91mobiles.com\/hub\/nothing-particles-by-xo-sub-brand-tws-earbuds-first-look-exclusive\/\">December report from <em>91Mobiles<\/em><\/a> which said they\u2019ll be sold under the name \u201cParticles by XO,\u201d though it\u2019s unclear whether this refers to the earbuds themselves (Particles?), the subbrand (XO?), or some combination of the two.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Yes, Nothing <em>is<\/em> just about to launch a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/nothing_ear_2_launching_on_march_22-news-57795.php\">successor to its Nothing Ear 1 earbuds on March 22nd<\/a>. But <em>those<\/em> earbuds reportedly use the model number B155, which appears in a <a href=\"https:\/\/launchstudio.bluetooth.com\/ListingDetails\/158630\">separate Bluetooth SIG listing<\/a>. Images of the earbuds were found by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Za_Raczke\/status\/1604080280339464192\">app sleuth Kuba Wojciechowski<\/a>, who also reportedly unearthed the branding \u201cParticles by XO\u201d listed as made by Nothing in firmware from the company\u2019s servers. Features reportedly include support for active noise cancellation, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.91mobiles.com\/hub\/nothing-particles-by-xo-sub-brand-tws-earbuds-first-look-exclusive\/\"><em>91Mobiles<\/em><\/a>. Aside from this report, however, there\u2019s little obvious to link Nothing to this \u201cParticles by XO\u201d branding, which <a href=\"https:\/\/uspto.report\/TM\/90717693\">appears in a US trademark filing<\/a> registered to a company called \u201cThe Must Unknown LLC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So what\u2019s going on? While it seems strange for a young company like Nothing (which to date has released just three products) to be developing a second brand, its CEO Carl Pei has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/3\/23\/22992424\/nothing-phone-1-smartphone-carl-pei-apple-ecosystem#:~:text=%E2%80%9CI%20think%20we,its%20formidable%20company.\">previously hinted at these sorts of future developments<\/a>. Last year, Pei told me that he had ambitions for Nothing to consult with other companies to help them launch their products. \u201cWe [could] help them do a lot of the work that they can\u2019t do themselves,\u201d Pei said.
