For at least the fourth time since he said the company was done with layoffs<\/a>, Elon Musk is reportedly cutting more of Twitter\u2019s workforce. According to The Information<\/em><\/a>, the social media website laid off \u201cdozens\u201d of employees on Saturday evening. The outlet put the number of affected staffers at approximately 50, a number Platformer\u2019s<\/em> Zo\u00eb Schiffer later said was likely much higher.<\/p>\n

\u201cHearing that the Twitter layoffs last night were well above 50 and hit multiple departments including engineering,\u201d Schiffer tweeted on Saturday<\/a>, subsequently adding<\/a> that product manager Esther Crawford was among those Twitter let go on over the weekend. Crawford\u2019s departure is notable for a few reasons. Outside of Musk himself, she was one of the most recognizable faces at \u201cTwitter 2.0.\u201d She led the company\u2019s Twitter Blue redesign<\/a> and oversaw work on its upcoming payments platform. At one point, she even shared a photo of herself sleeping on the floor of Twitter\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s latest cuts claimed at least one other prominent employee. On Saturday morning, Revue founder Martijn de Kuijper tweeted<\/a> he was among those who had lost their job. \u201cWaking up to find I\u2019ve been locked out of my email,\u201d he said. \u201cLooks like I\u2019m let go.\u201d Twitter shut down Revue<\/a> at the start of this year. Musk did not address the cuts on Twitter. \u201cHope you have a good Sunday,\u201d he tweeted<\/a> early Sunday afternoon. \u201cFirst day of the rest of your life.\u201d Since his takeover of the company last year, it\u2019s believed Twitter has cut more than 80 percent of its full-time staff<\/a>. As of January, the company\u2019s daily revenue was reportedly down 40 percent<\/a> year-over-year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
