We had to go almost an <em>entire week<\/em> without the sport to watch, and gosh it was difficult. Thankfully the XFL is back, in February, to start a new season. It\u2019s a good time to look at the players in the league this year, the format for the season, and most importantly the ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS, the best name in sports.<\/p>\n<p id=\"KaqhIX\">The three month season starts this weekend with the same seven teams that competed in its last season, plus the addition of an eighth: The San Antonio Brahmas. The XFL last played in 2020, before it was suspended mid-season due to Covid, and eventually disbanded. The big difference between this latest iteration of the league and the past is that WWE chairman Vince McMahon is no longer involved. It\u2019s now owned by Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson, Dany Garcia, and a RedBird Capital, who purchased the league from McMahon for just $15M.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"OMGrGe\">Who are the 2023 XFL teams?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"jAIfub\"><strong>North Division<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"ldtNam\">DC Defenders<\/p>\n<p id=\"XxPLh0\">Seattle Sea Dragons<\/p>\n<p id=\"tNumhJ\">ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS (which must always be written in caps)<\/p>\n<p id=\"CB1ogU\">Vegas Vipers<\/p>\n<p id=\"SUx7WY\"><strong>South Division<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"iYHghM\">Arlington Renegades<\/p>\n<p id=\"i9NCOF\">Houston Roughnecks<\/p>\n<p id=\"WJddWA\">Orlando Guardians<\/p>\n<p id=\"TzXcJE\">San Antonio Brahmas <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"NVl7C6\">Who are the notable players for 2023? <\/h2>\n<p id=\"T1XBSg\">The term \u201cnotable\u201d is always a bit nebulous. From top to bottom the XFL is filled with former NFL players, and guys you probably know from college. The most famous football people associated with the league are in the coaching ranks, with Hines Ward (Brahmas), Rod Woodson (Vipers) and Wade Phillips (Roughnecks) being legitimate, legendary NFL folks making their way to the league.<\/p>\n<p id=\"m33ddq\">Some of the best known <em>players<\/em> in the XFL this season are: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"8tf1qo\">Josh Gordon, WR \u2014 Seattle Sea Dragons<\/li>\n<li id=\"Oopzoy\">Vic Beasley, LB \u2014 Las Vegas Vipers<\/li>\n<li id=\"evXlo5\">A.J.
