More and more triple-A developers are breaking off to form their own independent studios.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/picture><\/div>\nDevelopers from various triple-A studios such as Respawn and Naughty Dog have come together to form new studio Wildlight Entertainment<\/a>.\u00a0 Founded in 2022, Wildlight\u00a0has billed itself as “comprised of talented creators from some of the biggest IPs”\u00a0in the games space.\u00a0<\/p>\n Similar to Wayfinder Games<\/a> from earlier in the month, Wildlight is a new w-named studio made up of ex-EA developers. Its staff page also lists alumni\u00a0from developers such as\u00a0Sony Santa Monica (God of War Ragnarok<\/em>), Infinity Ward (Call of Duty:\u00a0Ghosts<\/em>), and Riot Games (Valorant<\/em>).\u00a0<\/p>\n Like several new startups, the studio’s LinkedIn<\/a> emphasizes having “a\u00a0positive, supportive work environment built on mutual trust and open communication, where everyone has a voice and everyone is treated with respect.”<\/p>\n Serving as CEO is Dusty Welch, who previously worked at Respawn and Activision Blizzard. Welch co-founded the studio with design director (and fellow Respawn alum) Jason McCord.\u00a0<\/p>\n The studio’s first game will be a currently unannounced\u00a0triple-A title that it’s been working on “for some time.”\u00a0<\/p>\n Though Wildlight has offices in Seattle and Los Angeles, it confirmed that it does offer hybrid or full\u00a0remote\u00a0work<\/a>. “We believe people should be able to work wherever they can be most productive.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
