Vinci Construction boosted its global turnover to \u20ac29.3bn (\u00a325.9bn) in its latest financial year, new results show.<\/span><\/p>\n

The French multinational firm saw its turnover rise by 11 per cent in the year to 31 December 2022, from \u00a326.4bn the year before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earnings before interest and taxes at the firm were also up, at \u20ac6.8bn (\u00a36.0bn), in comparison with \u20ac4.7bn (\u00a34.1bn) in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

That improvement was \u201cdriven by its international activities\u201d, the firm said in its annual report, published this week.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than half of Vinci Construction\u2019s revenue came from its international work, with revenue leaping by 14 per cent in comparison with the year prior. The firm said: \u201cBusiness levels were up in the Major Projects Division \u2013 reflecting progress with large contracts won previously.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The firm’s work on the HS2 megaproject forms part of its international activities and includes \u00a32.5bn of contract packages with its joint-venture partner Balfour Beatty, as BBV.<\/span><\/p>\n

The JV is building approximately 90km of the first phase of the HS2 route from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham. In August, BBV began searching<\/span> for an electrical and mechanical services contractor for work<\/span><\/a> on the West Midlands leg of HS2, to the tune of \u00a330m.<\/span><\/p>\n

A separate JV between Balfour Beatty, Vinci and Systra also won a \u00a31.67bn contract to build the <\/span>Old Oak Common station for HS2<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Across its entire business, which also includes airport operation, energy and power activities, Vinci tabled a revenue of \u20ac61.6bn (\u00a354.55bn) in 2022, compared with \u20ac48bn (\u00a343.69bn) the year before. The firm operates in Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vinci chief executive Xavier Huillard said its performance was of a \u201chigh quality\u201d last year, despite a \u201cparticularly turbulent geopolitical and macroeconomic backdrop\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

He added: \u201cVinci Construction saw very strong business levels and improved its margin, despite higher costs and supply chain difficulties.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIts highly selective policy in taking on new business and its new organisation are bearing fruits.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
