If you closed the Twitter app or web client after switching to the platform\u2019s reverse chronological \u201cFollowing\u201d timeline, both would default back to the For You feed after you came back. At the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/twitter-default-timeline-tab-213926997.html\" data-ylk=\"cpos:2;pos:1;itc:0\"><ins>end of January<\/ins><\/a>, Twitter took an initial step to address that oversight, tweaking the web client to remember the tab you left off at before closing your tabs. At the time, the company said a similar fix was \u201ccoming soon\u201d for Android and iOS. And if you primarily use Twitter to follow real-world events, it should make it easier to use the app for that purpose. Notably, the change to Twitter&#8217;s interface coincides with the company&#8217;s recent decision to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/twitter-new-developer-terms-ban-third-party-clients-211247096.html\" data-ylk=\"cpos:3;pos:1;itc:0\"><ins>cut off third-party clients<\/ins><\/a>.
