Lil Jon<\/strong><\/a> has retained an attorney after threatening Live Nation<\/strong>\u00a0for the use of his song title \u201cLovers & Friends\u201d for a festival that he\u2019s not even scheduled to play in, according to legal documents obtained by\u00a0The Shade Room<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The news, first broke by TMZ<\/strong><\/a><\/em> on Monday, showed court filings of Lil Jon\u2019s attorney, filed against Live Nation, having detailed his efforts to reach a monetary agreement with the wildly popular Las Vegas music festival.<\/p>\n

Lil Jon Calls Out Live Nation Festival For Stealing His \u201cLovers & Friends\u201d Title<\/h3>\n

The legal document states that the rapper had \u201ctrusted Live Nation to do the right thing,\u201d after claiming the concert-promoter\u2019s festival was ripping off the King of Crunk\u2019s 2004 hit \u201cLovers & Friends,\u201d featuring Usher and Ludacris.<\/p>\n

It goes on to say that the name of the song, and of the festival in question, has become \u201csynonymous\u201d with the rapper, and made mention of common law trademark infringement.<\/p>\n

Lil Jon reportedly immediately objected to the company\u2019s use of the title, and said he had contacted Live Nation asking where they got a license to use the \u201cLovers & Friends\u201d name.<\/p>\n

Live Nation responded essentially \u201cwe don\u2019t need no stinking license!\u201d the legal document states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The threatening letter went on to say that Live Nation has since made the festival an annual thing, further angering Lil Jon.<\/p>\n
