What is SmartLedger, and why does it use BSV?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Porras is MD of\u00a0SmartLedger<\/a>. George asks her to tell the audience about it and the core problem it\u2019s trying to solve.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmartLedger is a company with a philosophy\u2014using blockchain technology to solve business problems,\u201d Dr. Porras says. While it\u2019s first and foremost a distribution channel, it has also started creating its own solutions, such as\u00a0TicketMint<\/a>\u00a0and various applications. The SmartLedger team\u00a0recently demonstrated<\/a>\u00a0some of these solutions for CoinGeek.<\/p>\n

Which blockchain does SmartLedger use?\u00a0Bitcoin SV<\/a>\u2014the original Bitcoin protocol. George notes that most people in the \u2018crypto\u2019 space are critics of BSV and asks what advantages it offers. Dr. Porras says that the BSV protocol is\u00a0set in stone<\/a>, and that\u2019s the main advantage. It\u2019s fast, scalable, and stable,\u00a0setting it well ahead of the competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe survival of the industry depends on making this technology available,\u201d she says, detailing how Satoshi Nakamoto made\u00a0micropayments<\/a>\u00a0possible, and that\u2019s the main point of this technology.<\/p>\n

Why did the firm choose to move to Dubai and enter the Middle East? What went into that decision? SmartLedger was there for the\u00a0BSV Global Blockchain Convention<\/a>\u00a0in May 2022. Dr. Porras stayed longer and had many different meetings, and that\u2019s when the company decided to move in and immediately began the process.<\/p>\n

How is SmartLedger planning to deal with the competition in Dubai?\u00a0Tailor-made solutions that solve real problems<\/a>\u00a0rather than generic packages are the key.<\/p>\n

Educating customers and overcoming challenges in the industry<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Porras says that at this stage, potential customers should listen closely and educate themselves. \u201cDon\u2019t go with the flow,\u201d she says, highlighting how backtracking when you choose the wrong technology is difficult.<\/p>\n

SmartLedger genuinely wants companies to choose the best technology for them, and it\u2019s a priority to educate and help customers decide on the best solution.<\/p>\n

George notes that 2022 was a challenging year for the industry and asks how SmartLedger has overcome or plans to overcome its hurdles. Dr. Porras says that the year has been a blessing and a curse, but the prices of\u00a0speculative tokens<\/a>\u00a0don\u2019t impact the company as it does not buy, sell, or trade digital currencies.<\/p>\n

What should we expect in the coming years? Dr. Porras is hesitant to give advice as \u201cadvice depends on your perspective,\u201d but generally, she says to look at what people do rather than what they say and look back and see what has happened since 2000. She urges people to be careful and do what\u2019s right for their organizations and countries.<\/p>\n

Will digital currencies replace fiat currencies?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Porras doesn\u2019t think digital currencies will completely replace fiat. Instead, she thinks they will complement each other. Bitcoin was invented because fiat currencies couldn\u2019t do nanopayments.<\/p>\n

However, she believes the world will change a lot due to this technology. Financial services, banking, and the processes they rely on will all undergo a sort of revolution thanks to blockchain technology.<\/p>\n
