In case you were wondering, this microSD card costs about the same as its weight in 0.125 carat diamond ($1.1m per Kg).<\/p>\n<p>Equally important is the data on these cards so bear in mind that a microSD is smaller than a fingernail. We recommend that you backup your data using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/best\/best-cloud-storage\"><u>cloud storage<\/u><\/a> solution (although you won\u2019t find any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/best\/best-free-cloud-storage-service\"><u>free cloud storage<\/u><\/a> that can do 1.5TB).<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-comes-next\">What comes next?<\/h2>\n<p>Micron was the first out of the with a 1TB card. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/reviews\/micron-1tb-c200-microsd-uhs-i-card\"><u>C200<\/u><\/a> is almost four years old and it\u2019s only in the past few months that the average price &#8211; and relative availability of &#8211; 1TB MicroSD cards has improved. But how long will 1.5TB capacity remain the king of the hill remains anyone\u2019s guess; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcameraworld.com\/news\/meet-the-worlds-first-2-terabyte-microsd-card\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcameraworld.com\/news\/meet-the-worlds-first-2-terabyte-microsd-card\"><u>Kioxia unveiled a 2TB Exceria Plus<\/u><\/a> prototype back in September 2022 but while a tentative 2023 launch has been muttered, it is likely to depend on market conditions (i.e. if there\u2019s enough demand for it).<\/p>\n<p>For those interested in purchasing it though, just bear in mind that it has a formatted capacity of 1,430,511 Megabytes. Samsung and Kingston, two of the largest solid state storage vendors, have yet to release any microSD cards with a 1TB or higher capacity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the <a href=\"https:\/\/target.georiot.com\/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8428&#038;GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com%2FSilicon-Power-Nintendo-Switch-Compatible-microsdxc%2Fdp%2FB08NCDG9X9%2F%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-20%26ascsubtag%3Dtrdpro-us-4749533939883728000-20\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Silicon-Power-Nintendo-Switch-Compatible-microsdxc\/dp\/B08NCDG9X9\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-hl-processed=\"hawklinks\" data-placeholder-url=\"https:\/\/target.georiot.com\/Proxy.ashx?tsid=8428&#038;GR_URL=https%3A%2F%2Famazon.com%2FSilicon-Power-Nintendo-Switch-Compatible-microsdxc%2Fdp%2FB08NCDG9X9%2F%3Ftag%3Dhawk-future-20%26ascsubtag%3Dhawk-custom-tracking-20\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-google-interstitial=\"false\" data-merchant-name=\"Amazon US\" data-merchant-id=\"1471\" data-merchant-url=\"amazon.com\" data-merchant-network=\"Amazon\"><u>cheapest 1TB microSD card is a Silicon Power model at $87.99<\/u><\/a><span> (opens in new tab)<\/span>, about a third of the price per TB of Micron\u2019s i40. Amazon has a lot of other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/trying-to-buy-a-microsd-card-proved-to-me-that-amazon-is-becoming-a-scammers-paradise\"><u>fake 1TB microSD cards<\/u><\/a> on its marketplace and this endemic problem hasn\u2019t been resolved yet. Should you buy a microSD card, make sure it\u2019s one of these 14 brands: Samsung, Kingston, SP\/Silicon Power, Teamgroup, Sandisk, WD, PNY, Lexar, Inland, Gigastone, Patriot, Transcend, Amazon Basics and MicroCenter.
