Last week, Microsoft revealed it would lay off roughly 10,000 employees \u2013 including developers at <\/span>Bethesda and 343 Industries<\/span><\/a>. Despite that, it seems the latter will continue working on the <\/span>Halo <\/span><\/i>series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Immediately following the layoffs, there was a great deal of speculation that 343 Industries, in particular, might not be responsible for developing Halo games anymore. In response, the studio released an official statement on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHalo and Master Chief are here to stay,\u201d Pierre Hintze, studio head, said <\/span>on Twitter<\/span><\/a>. \u201c343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future, including epic stories, multiplayer, and more of what makes Halo great.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

2022 was a particularly rough year for the Halo franchise. While the initial reception for Halo Infinite<\/em> was <\/span>pretty positive<\/span><\/a>, post-launch support has been coming out at a snail\u2019s pace \u2013 upsetting most fans. For example, while online co-op did eventually release, the split-screen iteration was <\/span>outright canceled<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, Paramount\u2019s <\/span>Halo <\/span><\/i>TV series has been the subject of much ridicule. Whether it\u2019s <\/span>Master Chief\u2019s live-action butt<\/span><\/a> or <\/span>Cortana\u2019s new look<\/span><\/a> \u2013 fans weren\u2019t too keen on the adaptation. However, the series is <\/span>getting a second season<\/span><\/a> and was the most <\/span>popular show on Paramount Plus<\/span><\/a> last year.<\/span><\/p>\n
