Add a few nourishing sides &#8212; vegetables, a green salad, or whole grains &#8212; and you&#8217;ve got an appetizing, nutritious dinner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2 id=\"091e9c5e804a060b-1-2\">Winter Stew With Lean Beef, Beans, and Veggies<\/h2>\n<p>This beefy one-pot entr\u00e9e is loaded with heart-friendly ingredients &#8212; lean protein, veggies, and fiber &#8211;that fill you up and help maintain a healthy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/heart\/anatomy-picture-of-blood\" data-crosslink-type=\"article\" id=\"b49ece4b-b479-4ad3-ac75-2c37843a2716\">blood<\/a> cholesterol level. Plus, simmering this stew on your stove will fill your house with heart-warming smells on a cold winter&#8217;s night.<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp canola oil, divided<br \/>1 cup frozen pearl onions<br \/>3 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>1 lb lean beef stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces<br \/>1 cup red wine (can substitute low-sodium beef broth or water)<br \/>1 15 oz can low-sodium <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/kidney-stones\/picture-of-the-kidneys\" data-crosslink-type=\"article\" id=\"ddb95a43-a4ec-412e-b957-18a40b36d5bb\">kidney<\/a> beans, rinsed and drained<br \/>1 15 oz can low-sodium black beans, rinsed and drained<br \/>1 15 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained<br \/>3 large carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces<br \/>3 celery stalks, cut into 1-inch pieces<br \/>2 cups low-sodium, low-fat beef broth<br \/>1 tbsp tomato paste<br \/>1 tsp chili powder<br \/>1 tsp dried thyme<br \/>\u00bd tsp red pepper flakes<br \/>\u00bd tsp black pepper<br \/>\u00bd tsp salt<br \/>1 bay leaf<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<p>1.
