Kristin Chenoweth Regrets Not Suing CBS for Being \u2018Practically Killed\u2019 in \u2018The Good Wife\u2019 Accident: \u2018Didn\u2019t Do It Out of Fear\u2019 (Video)<\/h2>\n

\u201cI heard, \u2018Action!\u2019 and I woke up at Bellevue,\u201d the actress recalls<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/header>\n

Kristin Chenoweth opened up about her \u201clong-standing injuries\u201d from an accident on the set of CBS\u2019 \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d in 2012. <\/p>\n

During an interview on \u201cWatch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen\u201d on Monday, she spoke about her new book, \u201cI\u2019m No Philosopher, But I Got Thought,\u201d and specifically the new details of the incident and her lingering regret that she took no legal action against the network.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t do it out of fear and anxiety. Don\u2019t ever let fear rule your life,\u201d Chenoweth said. \u201cI have long-standing injuries from that. I wish I had listened to my dad. He said, \u2018You\u2019re going to want to do this.\u2019 We\u2019re not the \u2018suing family,\u2019 but when you\u2019re practically killed\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress, who was acting in a recurring role on Season 4 of the series, discussed how that falling lighting equipment struck her, hitting her in the face. It threw her into a curb, leaving her with a \u201cseven-inch skull fracture\u201d and \u201ccracked\u201d teeth and ribs. She was hospitalized immediately after.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard, like, a flagpole sound. I literally heard, \u2018We\u2019re losing the light.\u2019 I heard, \u2018Action!\u2019 And I woke up at Bellevue [Hospital],\u201d Chenoweth said.<\/p>\n

In a moment of levity, Chenoweth recounted the unlikely thing that \u201csaved\u201d her life that day: her metal hair extensions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made the hairline fracture go together. My doctor said, \u2018What are these metal things?\u2019 I said, \u2018They\u2019re hair extensions.\u2019 And he said, \u2018They\u2019ve saved your life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, anyone who wants to get hair extensions should, for your health,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n

During the interview, Chenoweth also revealed that the network had not reached out to her since the release of her book.<\/p>\n

A New York City Fire Department representative said a woman injured on set suffered \u201cminor injuries.\u201d Chenoweth later released a statement announncing her departure from \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d to focus on her recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with deep regret I inform everyone that due to my injuries I am unable to return to \u2018The Good Wife\u2019 at this time,\u201d Chenoweth said. \u201cGetting better slowly and thank you everyone for your concern.\u201d<\/p>\n
