The new junction will ease traffic in and out of the greater Orlando area<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The junction of Interstate 4 (I-4) and State Road 482 (also known as Sand Lake Road) is a crucial pinch-point en-route to popular tourist traps such as Universal Studios, Sea World and Walt Disney World.<\/p>\n

The project, commissioned by the\u00a0Florida Department of Transportation, entails improvements to the existing Sand Lake Road and preparations to install a\u00a0\u2018diverging diamond interchange\u2019\u00a0with I-4.<\/p>\n

The contract also requires the replacement of two bridges, the construction of a new bridge for preferential lanes, three new access ramps and the installation of a toll and signalling systems.<\/p>\n

Once completed, the\u00a0revamped interchange is expected to ease traffic flow, minimise travel times\u00a0and decrease the wait time at traffic signals.<\/p>\n

Lane already has a strong presence in Florida. It is currently widening a downtown section of I-275 in Tampa and in Osceola County it is completing the Poinciana Parkway.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the greater Orlando area, Lane is working on a beltway at the intersection of\u00a0I-4, SR 417,\u00a0and the nearly completed\u00a0Wekiva Parkway\u00a0(SR 429).<\/p>\n
