If you\u2019re a leftist and CNN\u2019s Don Lemon is coming after you, you know you\u2019re in trouble. Lemon is rarely able to see anything other than humility and grace in the actions of Democrats, no matter how egregious those acts are, and he\u2019s known more for getting drunk<\/a> and inking tattoos on live television than he is for fierce questioning.<\/p>\n

It was somewhat of a surprise, then, that the morning host did not buy what Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was selling Friday, even aggressively questioning the New York Democrat over his obvious hypocrisy regarding the Trump and Biden classified documents cases.<\/p>\n

Schumer began his segment on \u201cCNN This Morning\u201d by parroting the recent Dem narrative that the Trump and Biden cases are different\u2014vastly<\/em> different\u2014and claiming that Biden was transparent in his actions while Trump obstructed the DOJ. Both these claims are patently untrue: the Biden Administration has in fact been quite deceitful<\/a> about the found classified documents since day one, and Trump did in fact attempt to coordinate with authorities until they raided his home<\/a>, Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

Lemon, amazingly, wasn\u2019t convinced by Schumer\u2019s explanation:<\/p>\n

LEMON:<\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/span>Just to be sure about what you said. You believe that the Biden folks are being transparent about this? You think that they\u2019re being \u2014<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHUMER:
\n<\/strong>I think the Biden folks, as I said, cooperated with the prosecutorial authorities from day one and Donald Trump didn\u2019t.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LEMON:<\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/span>This is our report. According to one justice official \u2026 the White House public statements earlier this week offered an incomplete narrative about the classified documents from Biden\u2019s time as vice president, reinforced the need for a special counsel. The misleading statements created the impression that Biden\u2019s team had something to hide.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t sound that much different than the former president.<\/strong> [Emphasis mine.<\/em>]<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Schumer tried to hide his anger, but you could tell he was ticked. He\u2019s used to going on CNN to get fawned over, not to be questioned. He shot back:<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHUMER<\/strong>:
\n<\/strong>Don, t<\/span>here\u2019s now a special prosecutor. Let\u2019s see what they have to say. We can have all this speculation and comment [shakes his head derisively<\/em>]. Let\u2019s see what they have to say and let\u2019s focus on doing things that help the American people.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In other words, \u201cnothing to see here folks, move along.\u201d He also knows that Garland\u2019s quick decision to appoint a special prosecutor was made to shield the administration from public scrutiny. Now every official from Press Secretary Kristin Jean-Pierre on down can answer any question with<\/a>, \u201cwe can\u2019t talk about that because it\u2019s under investigation.\u201d They also know that special counsels take a ridiculously long time to reveal their findings, and the 2024 presidential election might be far in the past by the time anything happens.<\/span><\/p>\n

LEMON:<\/strong> I have to get \u2014 I have to say this. You seem much more measured about this than with the Trump documents because you called for transparency with the documents. You wanted lawmakers to have access to the documents seized from the former president\u2019s residence in Florida.<\/p>\n

SCHUMER:<\/strong> \u201cI said that night it was premature to comment. I stand by that,\u201d Schumer retorted, clearly just wanting to end the discussion. <\/span>\u201cThe prosecutors will get to the bottom of this, and let\u2019s let them do it, for God\u2019s sake. I know you want to buzz around\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Here Lemon and co-host Poppy Harlow both interrupt. What is happening over at CNN?!<\/p>\n

LEMON:<\/strong> Hold on! It\u2019s not just us buzzing, you\u2019re the Democratic head of the Senate; this is a really important issue. It\u2019s not just us buzzing around. This is serious stuff.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LEMON: “Misleading statements created\u2026impression\u2026Biden’s team had something to hide\u2026Doesn’t sound that much different than the former President.<\/p>\n

SEN. SCHUMER: “Let’s see what they have to say.”<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think Don Lemon is going to suddenly turn into the next Mike Wallace<\/a>, and I don\u2019t think CNN is going to be the go-to place for truth anytime soon. Still, I think it\u2019s important to note that even leftist media organizations are noting the hypocrisy of Biden\u2019s treatment thus far compared to Trump\u2019s, and they\u2019re also aware that this is a serious problem for the president\u2014one that even may knock him out<\/a> of a potential race for a second term.<\/p>\n
