Lola \u201cGangsta Boo\u201d Mitchell \u2014 a former member of hit-heavy hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia \u2014 was found dead in her home on New Year\u2019s Day, the Associated Press<\/a> reported. The \u201cWhere Dem Dollas At\u201d rapper was 43.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mitchell family would like to thank everyone for their condolences regarding the untimely death of Lola \u2018Gangsta Boo\u2019 Mitchell,\u201d the \u201cMafia\u201d artist\u2019s family said in a statement. \u201cThe family is asking for your continued prayers and privacy as we process the loss of our loved one.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same day, Earth, Wind & Fire drummer Fred White\u2019s brother announced the musician\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Our family is saddened today With the loss of an amazing and talented family member, Our beloved brother Frederick Eugene \u2018Freddie\u2019 White. ????????????????????????????????,\u201d Verdine White<\/strong> captioned a series of throwback photos via Instagram<\/a> of the \u201cSeptember\u201d artist drumming for and posing with the band. He called his sibling a \u201cchild prot\u00e9g\u00e9\u201d and noted he was a \u201cmember of the EWF ORIGINAL 9<\/a>, with gold records at the young age of 16 years old!\u201d White was 67.<\/p>\n

Alan Rankine \u2014 a founding member of the Scottish band The Associates \u2014 \u201cdied peacefully at home shortly after spending Christmas with his family,\u201d his two sons announced via Facebook on January 2, noting that they would keep his social media accounts active because \u201cthe community meant a lot to our dad.\u201d The \u201880s pop star<\/a> was 64.<\/p>\n

January 2 also marked the passing of rally driver and YouTuber Ken Block, who was killed in a snowmobile accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cKen was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband,\u201d his Hoonigan Racing team said in a statement at the time, per CNN<\/a>. \u201cHe will be incredibly missed. Please respect the family\u2019s privacy at this time while they grieve.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sports professional died after riding the vehicle down a slope in Utah. The snowmobile toppled over him and he was pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to injuries sustained from the accident, CNN reported. \u201cMr. Block was riding with a group but was alone when the accident occurred,\u201d the Wasatch County Sheriff\u2019s Office\u2019s said in a statement.
