Ja Morant<\/strong><\/a> is being sued for reportedly attacking a minor during a basketball game at his Tennessee Home back in July<\/p>\n

The lawsuit, filed in September in Shelby County, has since been sealed, but\u00a0TMZ Sports<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0reports the NBA star was involved in the assault of a 17-year-old during a basketball game in July at his Tennessee home.<\/p>\n

Teen Accuses NBA Superstar Of Beating Him Up During A Pickup Game, Yet Teen Seemingly Started Fight<\/h3>\n<\/section>\n
The teen allegedly old cops he was playing in a pickup basketball game with Morant at the house when the two got into a verbal argument.<\/section>\n
The plaintiff claims the argument quickly became heated, which further escalated after he threw a basketball at Morant and \u201caccidentally\u201d hit him in the face.The Grizzlies point guard then approached him and put his chin on his shoulder before asking a bystander \u201cShould I do it to him?\u201d the teenager recalled in court documents.\u00a0Morant then reportedly struck him \u201cwith a closed fist, knocking him to the ground.\u201d

The 17-year-old went on to say that Morant then \u201ccontinued sticking him while on the ground,\u201d and that another man eventually jumped in and began striking him as well.<\/p>\n

The teenager had \u201ca large knot\u201d on his head after the assault, officers noted of the victim\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n

Morant Tells Officers He Acted In Self-Defense Against Teen, Who Threatened To \u201cLight His House Up\u201d<\/h3>\n

Cops say Morant admitting to hitting the teenager but insisted it was all in in self-defense.<\/p>\n

The NBA player allegedly said the plaintiff threw the basketball at him \u201cintentionally\u201d amidst the argument, before \u201capproach(ing) him as if he wanted to fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morant added that \u201chis brother\u201d was the other man to jump in on in the altercation, but would not name him to police.<\/p>\n

The fight was ultimately broken up by spectators shortly after it began according to TMZ Sports.<\/p>\n

Morant also told officers that the teen had \u201cmade verbal threats stating he\u2019d \u2018light his house up’\u201d as he was being escorted off the property, the outlet reports.<\/p>\n

Cops \u201cadvised (that) Morand and his family were put in fear by the statement.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Investigation Ensued, However District Attorney Ultimately Declined To Prosecute Morant<\/h3>\n

A police investigation ensued afterwards for several weeks before the case was formally submitted to the district attorney\u2019s office on Oct.4, however the DA ultimately declined to prosecute Morant.<\/p>\n

Court records show Morant, as well as his childhood friend Davonte Pack<\/strong>, are listed as defendants in the case, but it\u2019s unclear what the plaintiff is seeking in the suit.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Morant did not immediately return requests for comment.<\/section>\n
The 23-year-old point guard has quickly become one of the best players in the NBA after making his first-ever All-Star team last year, and remains\u00a0a legitimate candidate to win this year\u2019s MVP award.<\/section>\n
