‘Make My Ears Bleed’ — NFL Fans Call Out Joe Buck’s Major Mistake During Chiefs-Broncos Monday Night Football Clash

Football

It’s the first primetime game of the year for Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, and there’s been some rust to shake off. On a play in the second quarter, Troy Franklin took a jet sweep from Bo Nix, but Buck called Franklin by the wrong name.

NFL fans were ready at their keyboards to troll Buck for the mistake on primetime.

Football Fans Rip Joe Buck for Mistake on MNF Broadcast

Tony Franklin got a surprise touch as a Bronco. Well, he doesn’t play for the Broncos; it’s Troy Franklin, not Tony. It was simply a mistake by Buck on Franklin’s first touch of the night, who corrected the mistake almost instantly.

However, fans were not happy with the mistake, despite the quick correction, and eagerly trashed Buck and Aikman’s early performance.

“Troy Aikman and Joe Buck make my ears bleed,” said one fan.

“Tony Franklin, Joe Buck?” said one Broncos fan and podcaster.

Franklin was a non-factor for the Broncos’ offense in the first quarter, and his second-quarter rush was his only action of the first half. No matter who it was, Buck was going to catch criticism for his mistake.

“Out here calling Franklin ‘Tony’,” said one fan.

“Who’s Tony Franklin?” added one Broncos fan.

Some fans ran with the mistake and made jokes about the five-yard rush by Franklin.

“NICE RUN TONY FRANKLIN,” said one fan.

It’s been a disappointing first half for the Denver offense. They’ve struggled mightily with just a touchdown to their name after making changes to their offensive staff and acquiring star WR Jaylen Waddle. New OC Davis Webb needs to find answers to get the squad rolling.

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to bounce back after their worst season in a decade with a win against last year’s AFC West champions, the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos were dangerously close to winning the AFC, but an injury to Bo Nix in the Divisional Round dashed their hopes. Both teams have their quarterbacks returning from injury in Week 1, yet both have had their ups and downs.

It’s clear it’s Week 1 all across the board, with the Chiefs and Broncos having some rough moments, and Buck making a brutal mistake that is getting him grilled on social media.

As with everyone involved, they will try to learn from their mistakes and improve their performance in the second half.
