Blessing, the sister of Nigerian businessman Jowizaza, has accused her brother of contributing to the abduction of their father by allegedly portraying a level of wealth on social media that she says does not reflect the family’s financial situation.

In a series of social media posts, Blessing criticised Jowizaza for what she described as excessive displays of wealth, arguing that the publicity may have attracted criminals who believed the family had access to large sums of money.

She specifically linked his social media activity to the reported abduction of their father, Ezeokafor, who was kidnapped while praying at a Catholic prayer ground in Anambra State.

“Why Jowizaza. My brother. You are the cause of this madness,” she wrote, accusing him of creating the impression that the family had enormous financial resources.

Blessing claimed the family is facing substantial financial obligations, alleging that they owe billions of naira to banks, including FCMB and Union Bank.

She warned her brother that she would hold him responsible if anything happened to their father, arguing that his public display of wealth had exposed the family to danger.

The family member also appealed directly to the kidnappers to release her father, insisting that the wealth they believed the family possessed was largely exaggerated.

“Kidnappers, they don’t have money. It is audio money,” she pleaded, urging the abductors to release her father and stressing that the family was struggling with significant debts.

According to Blessing, her father usually lived a modest lifestyle and regularly visited the prayer ground because it was a private place where he could worship peacefully.

She suggested that he may not have attracted attention there if not for what she described as excessive publicity about the family’s wealth on social media.

Father Abducted in Anambra

Ezeokafor was reportedly abducted on August 5, 2026, at a Catholic prayer ground in Ifite, Awka, Anambra State.

He had reportedly gone to the location to pray without his security personnel when the kidnappers struck.

The abductors are said to have initially demanded ?700 million in ransom before reportedly increasing their demand to ?1.5 billion.

A family member said efforts to establish communication with the kidnappers have been difficult.

The abduction has since generated concern within the family, with Blessing’s allegations adding a new dimension to the case by raising questions about the potential risks of publicly displaying wealth in an environment where kidnapping remains a serious security concern.

Her claims about the family’s alleged debts and financial position have not been independently verified.
