Trabzonspor receive fresh offer for Paul Onuachu: Full breakdown of the bid

Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor have received a fresh offer for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu from a Saudi Pro League club as interest in his services continues to grow, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onuachu’s future has been uncertain throughout the summer, with the Nigerian striker repeatedly linked with a move away from the Black Sea Storm just a year after joining the club permanently from English side Southampton following their relegation.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a remarkable individual campaign last season, winning the Golden Boot and the Best Goal of the Season award. He also played a key role in Trabzonspor’s Turkish Cup triumph, scoring a stunning brace in the final against Konyaspor.

However, Onuachu has yet to find the back of the net in five appearances this season. Despite his slow start, interest in the Super Eagles striker has only continued to grow with several clubs intensifying efforts to add him to their attack for the season.

The transfer window has closed in most parts of Europe, but the Saudi Pro League window remains open until September 12, giving them an extra opportunity to continue their push to sign the 32-year-old.

According to reports from Turkey, Trabzonspor have received a fresh offer for Paul Onuachu from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, with only a few days remaining for the interested side to complete a deal.

The offer is reportedly worth around €9 million (approximately N13.8 billion) for the Nigerian striker. The Saudi club are also prepared to offer Onuachu three times his current salary at Trabzonspor if he agrees to make the move.

Onuachu currently earns around €3.13 million per year at Trabzonspor. With his salary set to triple, the Super Eagles striker could earn more than €9 million annually in Saudi Arabia.

The total value of the transfer package could therefore reach around €18 million in the first year alone if the deal is completed. The overall value could be even higher depending on the length of the contract he agrees with the Saudi club.

Trabzonspor have previously rejected offers from Saudi giants Al Hilal and Al Ahli. The club’s president has also publicly reaffirmed their stance that they want to keep Onuachu and are not looking to sell the Nigerian striker.

However, the recent arrival of Franculino Djú, as well as the potential signing of Brazilian forward Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur, could change the situation. The addition of more attacking options could create room in the squad and potentially allow Onuachu to leave if Trabzonspor decide to sanction his departure.

The Super Eagles striker could now face a crucial decision over his future in the coming days, with the next 48 hours potentially playing a major role in determining whether he remains at Trabzonspor beyond the summer transfer window or makes a move to Saudi Arabia.
