Aaron Rodgers appears to be mending fences with his family.
The NFL star and potential Hall of Famer shared an Instagram post on Monday night showcasing a collection of photos with his relatives, notably featuring his mother, father, and one of his brothers. He accompanied the images with the caption, “another bonding week.”
For years, the strained relationship between Rodgers and his family has been under the microscope, often serving as a sensitive topic for the acclaimed quarterback.
Yet, recent developments suggest a shift in dynamics. Rodgers was seen beaming beside his mother, Darla, his father, Ed, and brother, Luke, in several of the candid snaps.
However, the absence of his younger brother Jordan from the family gathering was noticeable.
In one pic, Darla has her arms wrapped around Rodgers, while both smile from ear to ear.
Another shows him standing next to Ed.
In another photo, it shows Rodgers helping to assemble a toy presumably for Luke’s kids.
Rodgers has been estranged from his family for years now, dating as far back as 2016, when Jordan was on the “Bachelorette,” where the QB’s brother would meet his wife JoJo Fletcher.
It’s unclear when Rodgers and his family may have come to a détente, but the images show him in a much better place with them than years past.
Still, Jordan’s absence will lead many to believe that the fence-mending still has a ways to go between the two brothers.
Jordan was not invited to Rodgers’ wedding to Brittani, who has still not been seen publicly during the span of their relationship, the Daily Mail reported last summer, and the quarterback did not attend Jordan’s nuptials to Fletcher in 2022 despite an invite.
Rodgers has spoken about his strained relationship with Jordan in the past and about his brother’s appearance on the “Bachelorette.”
He even addressed it during his Netflix docuseries “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma.”
“It wasn’t like I was super duper close with everybody in the family,” Rodgers said. “But in actuality, it goes back to stuff from high school that kind of made me feel distant. Stuff in college, stuff post-college.”
He also criticized the way he was portrayed over the rift.
“What do they do? They go on a bulls–t show and leave two empty chairs,’ Rodgers said. “They all agreed this was a good thing to do, to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous – his words, not mine – that he ended up winning.
“But a dinner that was during the season, I was never asked to go to. Not that I would’ve gone.”
