Art in the Park is back in Caswell Hill for two days after a six-year hiatus, Pride Month events are underway, and the Saskatoon Soaps close their improv season at the Broadway Theatre on Friday.

Music 1. Explore the work of newcomer artists
Persephone Theatre and Saskatoon Open Door Society present THREADS at Persephone: Newcomers Navigating Creativity in Canada.
A showcase of newcomers’ art, the event explores the realities newcomers to Canada face, and celebrates their stories, perspectives, creative voices and artistic expression. Themes include identity, culture and lived experience.
The evening features speakers, a panel discussion, spoken word poetry, and a visual art exhibition showcasing the work of 10 newcomers.

Music 2. View some classic vehicles
Friday Night Classics — Saskatoon Classic Car Show opens for the summer season on Friday.
Local classic car enthusiasts are encouraged to display their vehicles for the public to view in a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
Everyone is welcome to engage with car owners at the free event.
The weekly show runs Fridays through September, weather-permitting, in the Market Mall parking lot from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Learn more on Facebook.
Music 3. Embrace local music
Dean McNeill Jazz Quartet performs an intimate show at Tot Café.
The quartet features McNeill on trumpet, Arlan Kopp on drums, Paul Suchan on piano and Emmett Fotosky on bass.

Saskatchewan Indigenous soul/R&B artist LOV performs with her debut album Iskwêw.
She transforms personal trials into songs of strength and independence with a sound that blends 2000s hip-hop and U.K. soul inspirations, with a modern edge.

Prairie Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra presents its spring show.
Saskatoon-based violinist Nova Wong joins the orchestra in a performance of works by Bach, Mozart and Christopher Wilson.

Music 4. Celebrate creativity and culture
The fourth annual Broadway Spring Fling is Saturday.
The family-friendly event celebrates creativity, culture and community, with street performers, artists, live music and dance, and makers.
There will be a vendor marketplace and sidewalk sales, a scavenger hunt, a silent auction, two performance stages, and fun for kids in the Kids’ Kingdom and Curiosity Corner. Ground Yoga offers free yoga at 11 a.m.

Music 5. Experience contemporary Ukrainian cinema
The fourth annual Prairie Ukrainian Film Festival brings contemporary and classic Ukrainian cinema to Saskatoon.
Seven feature films include documentary, drama, science fiction, animation and classic cinema. They explore themes of identity, displacement, memory, resilience and cultural continuity while showcasing the evolving voices of the Ukrainian film industry and Ukrainian cultural expression.
Presented by the Prairie Centre for the Study of Ukrainian Heritage, the free festival runs to Sunday at Remai Modern. Films are presented in Ukrainian with English subtitles, unless otherwise noted. Learn more at puffsaskatoon.com.
